Drones with GPS

GPS changes the behavior of a drone more than any other feature. The machine knows where it is, holds its position even in light winds, and when you release the sticks, it stays in place instead of slowly floating away.

Other functions rely on GPS: automatic return to the launch site , pilot tracking, and flight along a pre-set route. Without a satellite signal — typically inside buildings — the drone switches to a mode where it does not have this support.

Xiaomi FIMI , DJI and Yuneec drones are better equipped with GPS. It is worth waiting for a sufficient number of satellites to be locked on before taking off.
