Drones with barometer

A barometric sensor measures air pressure and uses it to hold the drone at a set altitude. When you release the throttle, the drone will remain suspended instead of descending or ascending.

For a beginner, this is a major relief — the most demanding part of piloting is eliminated and only direction control remains. The barometer works indoors even where there is no GPS signal.

Almost all newer Syma models and some Revell copters have altitude hold. The accuracy is in tens of centimeters, you can't rely on a millimeter.
