The Corgi The Aviation Archive series is a collection of intricately detailed die-cast aircraft models, primarily intended for the discerning collector. Limited edition with a numbered card.

Information about the subject

The F-86 Sabre fighter jet entered service with the USAAF in 1951. It participated in combat in Korea, where it was pitted against the Soviet MiG-15 aircraft. The Soviet counterpart was a comparable aircraft; however, the American side had the advantage of better pilot training. The F-86F version was equipped with a larger, modified wing (without slots), a new, more powerful engine, and was capable of conducting bombing attacks on ground targets. A welcome fact was that the aircraft exhibited improved flight characteristics at high speeds.
