Under the Opel Blitz name, the German car manufacturer Opel produced a range of medium and light trucks and commercial vehicles from the 1930s to the 1970s. Opel was the largest German truck manufacturer before World War II.
The Opel car manufacturer produced several models that went down in history as vehicles that served the needs of the German army. However, these were not purely military vehicles, they were also used in the civilian sphere. After the end of World War II, the factory equipment in the city of Brandenburg an der Havel was confiscated as war booty and transported to the USSR. Interesting versions included the Opel Blitz Kastenwagen, Pritschenwagen or Panoramabus.
In the 1960s, the vehicles were modernized, creating the last generation of these machines. Later, the vehicles were equipped with diesel engines at the request of customers. In 1973, the British company Bedford took over the production of this series, which was produced until 1987 under the name Bedford Flash.
