Plastic kit of the German heavy tank Tiger I.
Template information
The German Tiger Tanks are among the most famous tanks of World War II. Their design was designed to provide superior firepower to Wehrmacht tank divisions. The Tiger tanks were mainly used where the older types of Panzer III and Panzer IV medium tanks would not be able to face the newly developed technology of the enemy. The main armament consisted of the legendary (originally anti-aircraft) KwK 36 L/56 88 mm cannon.
The cannon was installed in a rotating gun turret and protected by a 120 mm thick mask. This powerful weapon could penetrate any enemy tank, even at considerable distances. The first sharp deployment of Tiger tanks took place in September 1942 near Leningrad. A few months later, the Tigers were deployed to the Don River Basin in Russia. The first produced tanks also took part in battles in North Africa, this happened in December 1942.
