The receiver with telemetry and the electronic stabilization system TSM will always keep you on the desired direction and with a full dose of fun. The Traxxas TQi 2.4GHz transmitter is already equipped with a Bluetooth module so you can monitor telemetry from installed telemetry sensors on your smartphone.
Features of the Traxxas Jato RC model:
Note: Please refer to the user manual for water resistance specifications. For tips and tricks on wet operation, please visit the blog .
TRX 3.3 racing engine
Drawing on 14 years of engine development, the TRX 3.3 race engine is tuned to near perfection. It is Traxxas' most powerful nitro engine, producing 60% more peak power compared to the TRX 2.5.
Transmission
The Traxxas Jato RC car model is equipped with an automatic two-speed transmission. This solution provides maximum acceleration and speed without compromise. The shift point can be adjusted to fine-tune the model to your needs.
Exhaust muffler
The aluminum muffler is precisely designed and tested for the TRX 3.3 engine, resulting in linear performance that delivers acceleration, top speed, and a great sound.
Traxxas EZ Start RC car electric starter
The revolutionary Traxxas EZ-Start combustion engine starter means the end of the laborious pulling of the starter cord or charging the glow plug. The EZ-Start starter consists of an electric motor that spins the crankshaft of the combustion engine via a gearbox and a one-way bearing. The leads from the engine and glow plugs are led to a connector to which the external Traxxas EZ-Start unit is connected. The external EZ-Start unit consists of a NiMH battery and a stabilized power supply for powering the glow plug. Starting is simple and perfectly functional, with one button. Of course, there is protection against engine overload and an indication of a faulty glow plug.
Axles and suspension
The key to the perfect driving characteristics of any model is the suspension and damping. The RC model Traxxas Jato is equipped with extended arms for greater stability. The driving dynamics in the terrain are enhanced by long-stroke oil shock absorbers that absorb every jump.
Front and rear stabilizer
Front and rear torsion bars ensure that the Jato 3.3 maintains the highest possible stability by reducing the load and sway of the model. In addition, a torsion bar increases traction and steering response.
Racing tires
Anacondas racing tires feature a specially formulated rubber compound that is long-lasting and provides excellent grip on smooth surfaces. Specially shaped foam inserts with directional tread ensure the tires are firmly seated on the rims even at high speeds.
Bellcrank steering
Steering is provided by a fast digital servo with integrated servo-saver. The modified axle geometry always guides the wheels in the desired direction, regardless of the suspension level.
Traxxas Stability Management
Traxxas Stability Management (TSM) not only allows you to experience tremendous power, speed, acceleration, and high-speed cornering, it also provides much easier steering and control on slippery surfaces, even ice or snow!
The receiver integrates a three-axis MEMS gyro and accelerometer, which evaluates the movement of the model 100 times per second and corrects the direction of travel by precise interventions in the front wheel steering. Traxxas TSM does not limit the engine power, you have 100% control over the power of the drive unit. The algorithms are tuned for each model separately. The level of assistance is set using the multi-function controller on the transmitter, or in the Traxxas Link application.
Fuel
The Traxxas TRX 3.3 internal combustion engine can be run on fuel with a content of 10% to 33% nitromethane after break-in. For normal driving, we recommend fuel with a content of 16% to 20% nitromethane, depending on the type of vehicle. A lower percentage of nitromethane is suitable for on-road racing, while a fuel with a higher nitromethane content is better for off-road racing.
A lower percentage of nitromethane also means easier engine tuning and less wear. However, it is always necessary to apply engine preservation oil (so-called after run oil) to the engine after the day's riding, which will protect the metal parts of the engine from corrosion caused by nitromethane residues, and to regularly apply oil to the air filter.
Package contents
The package includes a fully assembled 1:10 scale Traxxas Nitro Jato RC remote control car model with installed components: Traxxas TRX 3.3 IPS engine with tuned muffler, Traxxas TQi TSM 5-channel receiver, TSM electronic stabilization system telemetry and telemetry support, and Traxxas 2055 waterproof servo steering.
The package also includes a 2-channel Traxxas TQi 2.4GHz transmitter with an installed Bluetooth module, rear wheelie wheels, a complete EZ-Start 2 starter with a Traxxas NiMH 7.4 V battery, a Traxxas DC-Peak 2A Tamiya charger with a car plug, a 500 ml fuel bottle with a refueling tip, a set of keys and instructions in Czech and EN.
Must be purchased
To operate the model, you need 4 AA batteries (pencil batteries) to power the transmitter, 4 AA batteries to power the receiver, air filter oil, engine preservation oil, and fuel.
Accessories for normal operation
For normal operation of the RC car, you need tire glue, silicone oil for shock absorbers, and a set of Allen screwdrivers.
Tire glue is used to glue the bead of the tire to the rim. It is always necessary to glue the tire firmly around the entire circumference! If the tire is not glued around the entire circumference, it may burst. Tire glue has a special composition that is able to glue materials such as rubber or nylon, and the glued joint remains flexible even after hardening. Do not use ordinary superglue - it is not flexible after hardening, and cracks will gradually form around the rim on the tire.
Screw glue is required for routine maintenance. Screws screwed into metal materials (e.g. screws in a motor or a worm in a pinion) must be secured against loosening with this glue.
Sometimes it is necessary to add silicone oil to the shock absorbers. During normal operation, only slight silicone oil leaks occur along the shock absorber piston rods. If the surface of the shock absorber piston rods or the condition of the seals is in poor condition, the oil leak can be large. So-called repair kits are available for these cases. The tuning parts offer includes piston rods with an extremely hard TiN (titanium nitride) coating for all shock absorbers. Piston rods with a TiN coating can be easily recognized by their golden-green color. From our range of silicone oils, we recommend TLR, Traxxas or Medial silicone oils, see recommended accessories.
