Plastic kit of a prototype of a British jet fighter aircraft produced by Kovozávody Prostějov.
Template information
The Saunders-Roe SR-53 was a prototype British fighter aircraft, powered by a combination of rocket and jet engines. It was developed for the Royal Air Force (RAF) by Saunders-Roe in the early 1950s. The SR-53 was intended to be a fighter aircraft that would use its rocket engine to climb rapidly and close in on enemy bombers.
After the attack, it was to return to its base, this time using a secondary jet engine. Although the SR-53 demonstrated exceptional performance during test flights, its further development was terminated after 56 test flights. This was due to the rapid development of surface-to-air missiles, which led to a reassessment of the project.
