The Sikorsky S-64E Skycrane is a civilian version of the heavy twin-engine military helicopter CH-54A Tarhe. The military variant was used during the Vietnam War to transport heavy loads, from artillery weapons to gunboats.
This versatile helicopter performs a variety of functions around the world: rescue operations, firefighting, construction work, heavy cargo transportation, and logging.
Most S-64 helicopters have unique names on the nose. The Sikorsky S-64 also achieved notable records, including the highest horizontal flight altitude (11 km) and the rate of climb to various altitudes (3, 6 and 9 km).
