The Henschel Hs 123 was a German dive bomber and biplane fighter aircraft that operated not only in the Spanish Civil War, but also during World War II. On the Eastern Front, the Hs 123 carried out, among other things, disruptive night raids similar to those carried out by the Soviets on their Polikarpov Po-2s. Despite the outdated concept of the aircraft, the type was not retired until 1944.
