Plastic model kit of the Japanese WWII light bomber Mitsubishi Ki-30, known in NATO code as "Ann".
Template information
The Mitsubishi Ki-30 was a modern Japanese two-star mid-wing aircraft designed in the second half of the 1930s as a replacement for outdated biplanes. The aircraft featured an advanced all-metal construction, an internal bomb bay for 400 kg of bombs, and a rigid canopy undercarriage that provided stability during operations from field airfields. The aircraft made its combat debut during the China Campaign, where its reliability and good flight characteristics made it a popular type of the Japanese Army Air Force.
During the early stages of the Pacific War, these aircraft served primarily in the Philippines, providing direct support to ground troops. However, with the arrival of more modern Allied fighters, the Ki-30 began to suffer from a lack of speed and weak defensive armament, which led to their gradual withdrawal for training.
