Plastic kit of the British World War II fighter aircraft Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX UTI.
Template information
The Supermarine Spitfire was a British single-seat fighter aircraft used by the RAF and other Allied air forces during World War II. It formed the basis of the British fighter force, along with the Hurricane, during the Battle of Britain.
The two-seat Spitfire IX UTI was a Soviet field modification of the Mk.IX fighter, intended for training and retraining of PVO fighter pilots. Unlike the British versions, the second cockpit was located just behind the original one, which gave the aircraft a unique silhouette, but limited the instructor's view.
Despite the modifications, this version retained its excellent flight characteristics and became an important link in the introduction of Lend-Lease technology into Soviet armaments.
