Plastic kit of the prototype of the American carrier-based fighter aircraft Grumman XF5F-1 Skyrocket.
Template information
The Grumman XF5F Skyrocket was a prototype of an American twin-engine carrier-based fighter aircraft that first flew on 1 April 1940. The aircraft, which was built in only one example, used a unique concept where the front of the fuselage did not extend beyond the leading edge of the wing. The originally intended armament was to be two 20mm Madsen cannons. During test flights, the Skyrocket proved to be well-controlled and, thanks to its unique concept, provided the pilot with an exceptionally good forward view.
