The latest version of the Leopard 2 tank, equipped with a 120mm smoothbore gun. The Leopard 2A6 retains all the improvements of the original versions, including wedge-shaped armor resistant to chemical attacks and an improved electrical weapon stabilization system.
The 2A6 version is present in armies almost all over Europe, with the Netherlands, Spain and Greece adopting the Leopard 2A6 as their main battle tank. The 2 A7V version comes with improvements such as the use of Rheinmetall's DM11 programmable ammunition. The ammunition can be detonated at a precise distance, either in front of the target, inside the target or above the target, thanks to a timer.
Another improvement is the reinforced armor on the front of the hull, the gunner's thermal imaging sight with a third-generation FLIR, better acceleration thanks to a modified gearbox, a new system of protection against nuclear, chemical and biological weapons, and the Spectus observation system (day camera and thermal imaging) for the driver.
