Plastic kit of the American M-47 Patton medium tank produced by Italeri.
Template information
The M-47 Patton medium tank was developed and deployed by American armored units in the early 1950s. Compared to its predecessors, such as the M-46, it demonstrated significantly improved performance, was characterized by increased protection and greater firepower, which was provided by the 90 mm M3 cannon mounted on the turret. The tank had a combat weight of approximately 46 tons and was powered by a high-performance 810 hp air-cooled Continental V-12 engine, which allowed it to reach a maximum speed of 45 km/h. In addition to the United States, the M-47 tank was widely used by various NATO armies throughout the Cold War. It proved to be a reliable and robust platform and remained in service with several European armored units until the 1980s. In addition, it took part in combat in many theaters of operations, from the Middle East to the Indo-Pakistani conflict.
