Plastic kit of the Italian World War II self-propelled gun Semovente M42 da 75/34.
Template information
In the late 1930s, the Italian Regio Esercito began deploying self-propelled guns to support tanks and infantry. The Semovente 75/34 was developed based on the M-series medium tank, and soon became the most feared Italian armoured vehicle.
In addition to its primary artillery role, the mounted 75mm howitzer proved to be a highly effective anti-tank weapon, with its firepower far superior to that of the M-13 and M-14 tanks. The Semovente also had the advantage of its low profile, which made it difficult to aim.
The driving characteristics on the terrain and on the road were also very good. The armored vehicle operated in Africa and also in a defensive role during the Allied operations in Italy. Later it also appeared in the service of the Wehrmacht, which in itself confirms its qualities.
