The JSF (Joint Strike Fighter) program aimed to develop a 5th generation multirole fighter aircraft that could replace the current aircraft used by the United States and some NATO members. As part of the JSF program, Lockheed Martin designed the single-engine F-35 Lightning II.
The stealth aircraft, which came in three versions (F-35A, F-35B, F-35C), is characterized by the use of the most modern hi-tech materials and the installation of cutting-edge avionics. The F-35 is designed to gain and maintain air supremacy, as well as provide air support to ground forces.
