Plastic kit of the Soviet Mil Mi-24 attack helicopter in 1:72 scale.
Template information
The Mil Mi-24 is a large twin-engine attack and multi-purpose helicopter designed for direct support of ground troops, destruction of tanks and armored targets, transportation of 8 people or 1,500 kg of material in the cargo hold. The North Atlantic Alliance assigned it the code name "Hind" (Czech "Laň"). Export versions of the helicopter are known as the Mi-25 and Mi-35. The basic armament of the helicopter is a rotating, bow-mounted four-barreled rotary machine gun 9A624 caliber 12.7 mm or a twin cannon GSh-23 caliber 23 mm. Additional armament and equipment can be suspended on four pylons under the auxiliary wings. At the wing tips there are rails for anti-tank guided missiles. The D version has additional tanks in the cargo hold. The helicopter's endurance is then increased to almost 4 hours of flight and a range of more than 800 km. The helicopter participated in many conflicts around the world; perhaps the most significant was the Soviet war in Afghanistan.
