The Westland Puma HC.1 was developed from the French Sud-Aviation SA 330 Puma in extensive collaboration between the United Kingdom and France. This medium transport helicopter entered service with the RAF in the early 1970s and quickly became an indispensable means of tactical troop and material transport.
