The American Douglas A-20 bomber was one of the most successful types of World War II. The machine was created on the basis of a tender for a new type of light attack bomber from 1937. The first prototype of the aircraft under the designation Douglas Model 7B took off on October 26, 1938. Douglas DB-7/A-20 Boston aircraft were used not only by the USA, but also by many other countries, including Great Britain, France and the Soviet Union. The type found wide application, the machines fulfilled the role of fighter, night fighter, attack and reconnaissance aircraft.
