Experience great fun with the smaller RC model of the Traxxas TRX-4M Land Rover Defender, which fits comfortably in a backpack. You will have a lot of fun with the car both at home and outdoors. The top-equipped model in a compact 1:18 scale retains the excellent driving characteristics of its larger 1:10 scale counterpart. With all-wheel drive, you can overcome all obstacles playfully and in style. Everything you need is included in the package, including a USB charger and a 7.4 V 750 mAh LiPo battery.
As with other Traxxas models, a wide range of accessories, tuning parts and all spare parts are available. The licensed body is processed down to the smallest detail. The latest innovation in the form of clipless body mounting is also included here. Removing the body using a hidden beak is a matter of seconds. For evening rides, LED lighting is installed in the front bumper.
The new ECM-2.5 control unit and the powerful 180 87T DC motor have been developed for the model. All the features known from the TRX series models are integrated into the unit. There are 3 driving modes, a waterproof design or the option of installing ProScale lighting (sold separately) with realistic light functions.

Metal chassis frame
The chassis consists of 2 C-shaped steel profiles connected by plastic crossbars. This ensures a rigid structure that minimizes twisting. Heavier components, such as the battery and motor, are placed on the bottom of the chassis to maintain a low center of gravity.
Trial suspension
The TRX-4M uses a sophisticated 4-point solid axle suspension with robust links and ball-jointed trailing arms.
4×4 drive
The 4×4 drive is implemented via fixed differentials. For extremely smooth operation, there are constant-velocity CV joints on the front axle.
Telescopic shafts
Telescopic center drive shafts allow full suspension travel and are also equipped with constant velocity CV joints.
Turning angle 45°
The 45° front wheel steering angle gives the model an exceptionally tight turning radius and high maneuverability, which is essential for off-road driving. Compared to other models of this size, the TRX-4M has a turning radius that is up to 50% smaller.
GTM oil shock absorbers
The TRX-4M is equipped with GTM oil-filled shock absorbers for a smooth ride and realistic handling. The shock absorbers absorb shocks and the ride is beautifully smooth without bouncing. The shock absorbers allow for easy adjustment of spring preload with washers, while double O-rings ensure a perfect seal.
Easy battery removal
The clever system of securing the battery in the bulkhead using a rubber band is a small detail, but it makes changing the battery much easier and faster. The rubber band also holds the battery firmly in place.
Off-road wheels and tires
The 1" wheel and tire design is taken from the larger TRX models, but even with the smaller dimensions, the high level of detail is maintained. The tires with foam insert and soft compound provide high traction. The carrier is a 7 mm hexagonal.
Licensed bodywork
The body is made of ABS plastic, which is durable and allows for a high level of detail. The body also includes a spare tire mock-up, canisters, roof rack, snorkel, side mirrors, door handles, front grille and offset fender flares. LED lighting is installed in the front fender, which can be expanded with ProScale multi-function lighting. Assembly and disassembly of the body is easy thanks to the latch system.
Power steering
The Traxxas servo 2065T digital nanoservo with a DC motor is waterproof. The servo box is equipped with a seal for water resistance. The gears are nylon and the main gear wheel is metal for high durability.
Powerful engine
The Titan 180 87T DC motor provides a wide range of low-end torque for technical riding. The fixed tooth clearance is precisely defined and does not require any adjustment.
Control unit
The new ECM-2.5 control unit integrates a speed controller and a receiver. The electronics are protected in a waterproof box. The functions include LVD - protection against underdischarge of the LiPo battery, easy one-button EZ-Set setup and 3 special driving modes. The power supply is compatible with a maximum of 2S LiPo batteries. A powerful BEC with a voltage of 6 V powers the servo control, while the unit is prepared for connecting ProScale lighting. The following driving modes are available:
- Sport Mode – gas, reverse and brake (without automatic brake in neutral),
- Trail Mode – throttle, reverse and brake (slow brake in neutral), suitable for downhill riding,
- Crawler Mode – throttle, instant brake in neutral, allows switching to reverse without double pressing (suitable for technical driving).
RC kit Traxxas TQ 2.4GHz
The model is controlled by a 2-channel proportional steering wheel transmitter Traxxas TQ 2.4GHz. The transmitter is powered by only 4 AA cells (pencil batteries). There is a rotary knob on the transmitter that trims the wheel steering (the model then drives straight when the steering wheel is in the center position). The battery status in the transmitter is indicated by an LED. The transmitter can be set to reverse on the throttle and steering channels.
Drive battery
The included 2S LiPo 750 mAh battery provides powerful power for up to 1 hour of operation. A specially designed connector plugs directly into the controller.
USB charger
The package includes a USB charger for convenient charging of the drive battery. The specially designed iD connector is safe and does not allow incorrect connection. The charge status is displayed using the LED indicator on the charger. Although the charger can be powered from any USB-A output, for fast charging with a current of up to 2 A, it is necessary to have a sufficiently powerful USB source. We recommend a universal USB power adapter (source) QC3.0 18W.

The package contains the Traxxas TRX-4M Land Rover Defender RC car model with installed components: Titan 180 87T DC motor, ECM-2.5 control unit and 2065T servo. Accessories for normal operation
For normal operation of the RC car, you need tire glue, silicone oil for shock absorbers, and a set of Allen screwdrivers.
Tire glue is used to glue the bead of the tire to the rim. It is always necessary to glue the tire firmly around the entire circumference! If the tire is not glued around the entire circumference, it may burst. Tire glue has a special composition that is able to glue materials such as rubber or nylon, and the glued joint remains flexible even after hardening. Do not use ordinary superglue - it is not flexible after hardening, and cracks will gradually form around the rim on the tire.
Screw glue is required for routine maintenance. Screws screwed into metal materials (e.g. screws in a motor or a worm in a pinion) must be secured against loosening with this glue.
Sometimes it is necessary to add silicone oil to the shock absorbers. During normal operation, only slight silicone oil leaks occur along the shock absorber piston rods. If the surface of the shock absorber piston rods or the condition of the seals is in poor condition, the oil leak can be large. So-called repair kits are available for these cases. The tuning parts offer includes piston rods with an extremely hard TiN (titanium nitride) coating for all shock absorbers.
