Experience big fun with the smaller Traxxas TRX-4M Ford F-150 1979 RC model car that fits comfortably in your backpack and will give you a lot of fun at home, in the backyard or in the field. The model is in the High Trail Edition and has a factory-installed kit for higher ground clearance, which is complemented by larger tires for even better off-road capabilities.
The top-equipped model in a compact 1:18 scale retains the excellent driving characteristics of larger 1:10 models. With 4×4 drive and detailed licensed bodywork, you can overcome all obstacles playfully and in style. Everything you need is included in the package, including a USB charger and a 7.4 V 750 mAh LiPo battery with a driving time of up to 60 minutes.
The extended chassis TRX-4M eliminates all the shortcomings of small models and hits the track fully equipped with a metal chassis frame, four-point suspension, oil shock absorbers, a 45° steering angle, even higher ground clearance, Traxxas performance and durability. As with other models, a wide range of accessories, tuning parts and complete spare parts are available.
The licensed bodywork is crafted down to the smallest detail with model-quality accuracy, including chrome elements and a protective frame for the bed. Whether on the track or displayed on a shelf, the model will always look amazing.
The latest innovation in the form of a clipless body is also included here. Dismantling the body using a hidden beak is a matter of moments. For evening rides, LED lighting is installed in the headlights.
A new ECM-2.5 control unit and a powerful 180 87T DC motor have been developed for the model. All the advantages of the TRX models are integrated into the unit, such as a waterproof design, a choice of three driving modes, or the option of installing Pro Scale lighting (sold separately) with realistic light functions.

Higher ground clearance
The factory-installed TRX-4M Long Arm Lift kit increases ground clearance by 35% for improved off-road capability. An 18mm longer chassis with an extended wheelbase of 162mm is installed, ensuring authentic proportions and increased stability.
Larger tires
The 2.4" diameter Mickey Thompson Baja Pro XS tires are 4.9mm larger than the standard tires on the TRX-4M.
Body with LED headlights
The detailed bodywork with clear windows, chrome accents and a roll cage features LED headlights. The model is also ready for Pro Scale lighting (sold separately). The clipless bodywork attachment system is retained.
Extended metal chassis frame
The extended chassis with a longer wheelbase is made up of two C-shaped steel sections connected by plastic cross members, ensuring a rigid structure that minimizes torsion. Heavier components such as the battery and motor are placed on the bottom of the chassis to maintain a low center of gravity. Lower shock towers and control unit beds are used to install a pick-up-style body.
Lower shock towers
The model with the Long Arm Lift Kit installed features lower shock towers, increasing ground clearance. The control unit bed is lowered to accommodate a pickup body.
Trial suspension
The TRX-4M uses a sophisticated four-point solid axle suspension with robust links and ball-jointed ends.
4×4 drive
The 4×4 drive is implemented via fixed differentials. For extremely smooth operation, there are constant-velocity CV joints on the front axle.
Telescopic shafts
Telescopic center drive shafts allow full suspension travel and are also equipped with constant velocity CV joints.
Turning angle 45°
The 45° front wheel steering angle gives the model an exceptionally tight turning radius and high maneuverability, making it suitable for indoor driving or trials riding over obstacles. Compared to other models of this size, the TRX-4M has a turning radius that is up to 50% smaller.
GTM oil shock absorbers
The TRX-4M is equipped with GTM oil-filled shock absorbers for a smooth ride and realistic handling. The shock absorbers absorb impacts and provide a smooth, bouncy ride. The shock absorbers feature:
- easy adjustment of spring preload with washers,
- high lift and oil filling,
- double O-rings for a perfect seal.
Easy battery removal
The clever system of securing the battery in the bulkhead using a rubber band is a small detail, but it makes changing the battery much easier and faster. The flexible rubber band also holds the battery firmly in place.
Off-road wheels and tires
The chrome 1" eight-hole rims are fitted with larger Mickey Thompson Baja Pro XS tires with an aggressive tread pattern for great looks and better traction. The lug is a 7mm hex.
Towbar holder
The package includes an extended bracket to which a trailer hitch can be installed. The trailer including the hitch is available as a tuning part (sold separately).
Licensed bodywork
The body is made of ABS plastic, which is durable and allows for many details to be captured. It includes chrome elements such as the front grille, front and rear bumpers, side mirrors, handles and a protective frame for the bed.
The front headlights feature impressive LED lighting, which can be optionally expanded (not included) with a roll cage lighting and Pro Scale multi-function lighting. The body is easy to assemble and disassemble thanks to the latch system.
Power steering
The Traxxas servo 2065T digital nano servo with DC motor is waterproof. The servo gears are nylon and the main gear wheel is metal for high durability.
Powerful engine
The Titan 180 87T DC motor provides a wide range of speeds from low rpm for technical riding to higher speeds for crossings. The fixed tooth clearance is precisely defined and does not require adjustment.
Control unit
The new ECM-2.5 control unit integrates the controller with the receiver. The electronics are protected in a waterproof box. The functions included are: LVD - protection against underdischarge of the LiPo battery, easy one-button EZ-Set setup and three special driving modes.
Powered by a maximum of 2S LiPo battery. Powerful BEC with 6V for servo. Precise and reliable control at a frequency of 2.4 GHz. The unit is ready to connect Pro Scale lighting. Can be paired with TQi transmitters - just basic setup.
Driving modes:
- Sport Mode – throttle, reverse and brake (without automatic brake in neutral)
- Trail Mode – throttle, reverse and brake (slow brake in neutral), suitable for downhill riding
- Crawler Mode – throttle, instant brake in neutral, allows you to shift into reverse without double pressing. Suitable for technical riding
RC kit Traxxas TQ 2.4GHz
The model is controlled via a Traxxas TQ 2.4GHz dual-channel proportional steering transmitter – interference-free operation. The transmitter is powered by only four AA batteries.
There is a rotary control on the transmitter that trims the steering (so that the model drives straight when the steering wheel is in the center position). The battery status in the transmitter is indicated by an LED. The transmitter can be set to reverse on the throttle and steering channels.
Drive battery
The included 2S LiPo battery with a capacity of 750 mAh provides powerful power for up to 1 hour of operation. The specially designed connector plugs directly into the control unit.
USB charger
The package includes a USB charger for convenient charging. The specially designed ID connector is safe and prevents incorrect connection. The charging status is displayed by an LED on the charger. Although the charger can be powered from any USB-A output, for fast charging with a current of up to 2 A, it is necessary to have a sufficiently powerful USB source.
