Road RC model of the Traxxas 4-TEC 2.0 car without a body. The model is designed for fitting your own bodywork according to your preferences. Thanks to the standard dimensions of the on-road chassis, adjustable wheelbase and adjustable brackets, a wide range of bodies from various manufacturers, ready-made bodies or clear bodies that you can paint yourself, can be fitted to the model. The model turns every piece of parking lot, asphalt road, sports field or other flat surface into a race track on which you can compete, skid through corners and enjoy incredible fun full of brutal acceleration, precise steering and speed. Thanks to the new brushless drive with 2-3S LiPo power supply, the model reaches speeds of up to 80 km/h. The new brushless motor has integrated cooling and the controller contains integrated telemetry. Steering is assisted by the electronic stability control TSM , which allows you to drive like a pro even at high speeds.

The proven design of the 4-Tec 2.0 model has been retained, including a modular chassis design, cutting-edge independent suspension geometry and a 4x4 drivetrain. Front and rear differentials are used to distribute power between the wheels. Ultra oil shock absorbers provide suspension. Thanks to the low center of gravity, the chassis has greater chassis stability. The model uses a classic body bracket with adjustable pillars for securing with clips.

For children and beginners, it is advisable to initially operate the model with a 2S LiPo battery, which reduces the maximum speed by 30%. The controller also offers three driving modes, including Training mode, in which the power is limited to 50%. This makes the 4-TEC 2.0 a versatile model that you can initially use with lower power and gradually increase it as your driving experience grows. The control is provided by the new TQi Sport 2.4 GHz RC kit. Of course, there is also a wide range of tuning and complete spare parts.

New VX3 drive

The new VX3 brushless drive can convert the energy of a 3S LiPo battery into extreme acceleration. The VX3 speed controller has modern electronics, a massive passive heat sink, easy one-button setup and telemetry support. The powerful Velineon V3300 motor is the ideal combination of high speed, power and efficiency. The integrated cooling effectively keeps the motor temperature low even during demanding driving.

Durable servo

The 4-Tec model has a new metal gear servo for superior strength and durability. In addition, a servosaver is installed in the steering mechanism.

TQi Sport RC kit

The TQi™ Sport transmitter offers the proven range and reliability of the TQi system in a compact and ergonomic design. With simple operation and one-button programming, it is quick and intuitive to use. The powerful 2.4 GHz system provides a stable connection, long range and precise control, so you can control your model even at high speeds.

All-wheel drive

The 4x4 drivetrain is based on a time-tested design with a center shaft, two differentials and durable steel axle shafts. The model appearance is completed by imitation brake discs with red calipers.

Model construction
Durable chassis with low center of gravity

The Traxxas 4-Tec 2.0 chassis is made of a three-dimensional composite molding (glass-filled nylon), which is lightweight and stiff at the same time. Everything was subordinated to obtaining the lowest possible center of gravity.

Modular construction

The modular design connects the front and rear chassis sections with the center chassis into one solid platform. This advanced solution ideally distributes impact energy while allowing for easy servicing of the model. You have instant access to all important components, model settings and service maintenance.

Straight chassis

The completely flat chassis reduces aerodynamic drag and glides smoothly over uneven surfaces. The front bumper has an increased ramp so that the model can overcome unevenness in the form of expansion joints and the like.

Precise proportional control

The front wheel steering mechanism is implemented via a Dual-Bell-Crank system, which ensures precise operation of the linkages to the wheels. A servo-saver is integrated in the servo lever.

Battery bed

The innovative battery cradle securely holds the battery in place with a rotating latching partition, making battery replacement a matter of seconds and eliminating the need to loosen clips or straps.

Oil shock absorbers

The 4-Tec 2.0 chassis effectively overcomes bumps thanks to oil-filled shock absorbers with exclusive X-rings that seal perfectly. The shock absorbers are adjustable - spring preload can be changed using shims, compression and rebound can be adjusted by changing the viscosity of the oil in the shock absorber, and springs with different stiffness are also available.

Cable holder

The elegant, precisely shaped divider securely fixes cables and replaces classic unsightly cable holders.

Waterproof* construction

The model features a number of patented solutions that reduce the risk of water ingress, such as sealed receiver boxes, servos, and epoxy-encapsulated controller electronics, giving you the freedom to go for a ride regardless of the weather.

Geometry and body adjustment options
Adjustable wheelbase

The 4-Tec 2.0 chassis allows the wheelbase to be extended or shortened by up to 3 mm. The adjustment is made by removing the rear suspension arms and removing the material. The cut-off part is then used as a spacer on the opposite side of the arm, or it can be replaced with suitable washers. Note: The front suspension arms are not adjustable.

Drifting control

The 4-Tec 2.0 chassis steering rods allow for a larger wheel angle setting if maximum steering is required. First, cut off the plastic stop to increase the range of movement of the rods. Then drill an inner hole in the rod lever. When making this adjustment, the manufacturer recommends using constant velocity drive shafts for smooth operation.

Rear arm attachment

The 4-Tec 2.0 chassis offers two different positions for attaching the rear upper arms. Changing the position does not affect the driving characteristics, but allows the use of bodies with different heights. For this modification, it is necessary to use adjustable upper arms - TRA8341X (sold separately), which will allow the arms to be extended and the wheel camber to be correctly adjusted.

Hanging suspension

Droop is the maximum distance the wheels can extend downward when the chassis is raised off the ground and the suspension is fully unloaded. The suspension arms have threaded holes that accept M4 set screws (Traxxas #489). Tightening these will reduce droop, which helps increase stability when cornering and allows for finer tuning of the chassis' handling characteristics.

Mounting the shock absorbers

The 4-Tec 2.0 suspension offers several shock absorber mounting positions, allowing you to adapt the chassis behavior to different conditions. For riding on uneven surfaces, a softer setting with more suspension travel and higher ground clearance is more suitable. Conversely, for riding on asphalt or a race track, a lower ground clearance and a stiffer, more progressive shock absorber setting are recommended.

Inter-tooth clearance

A solid motor mounting system with pre-drilled holes according to the gear ratio eliminates the need to worry about setting the correct gear clearance. The gears always fit together precisely for maximum efficiency and long service life.

Center drive shaft

Power is distributed between the axles via a single-piece steel drive shaft that can handle the power of the AC motor without any problems. This solution does not suffer from joint wear or vibrations, making it extremely simple and efficient.

Front and rear differential

Ideal power distribution is ensured by the front and rear differential. The differential lock can be changed by changing the oil with a different viscosity.

Steel axle shafts

One-piece steel axles save weight and transfer power directly to the wheels with lightning-fast response.

Ball bearings

Large ball bearings are used throughout the drive system for smooth operation. The bearings are covered with a plastic cover to prevent dirt from entering them. This solution extends the life of the model and simplifies maintenance.

Brake models

The model is authentically detailed with brakes that feature imitation discs with red calipers. The perforated discs are directional for maximum accuracy.

Body mounting options and model wheels
Adjustable body pillars

The 4-Tec 2.0 adjustable body mounts allow for the installation of popular 200mm bodies. The body pillars can be moved forward, backward and sideways to accommodate most mounting holes on different bodies.

Wheels and tires

Black chrome five-spoke wheels give the model a modern look. High-grip road tires provide high traction and confidence in corners.

Electronics
Power steering

The model is controlled by a Traxxas 2057 digital servo. The servo is equipped with two ball bearings on the milled shaft and metal gears for maximum durability. The servo design is waterproof*.

V3300 brushless motor

The model is powered by a powerful Velineon V3300 brushless motor. The newly designed motor features intake ports and an internal cooling fan on the shaft that drives air through the center of the motor, reducing temperature and maintaining consistent performance. Additionally, the metal housing dissipates additional heat from the motor.

Electronic controller VX3

The waterproof VX3 electronic brushless controller features advanced electronics and the ability to power 2-3S LiPo (NiMH batteries are not supported). It retains the simplicity of EZ-Set® one-button programming and three riding modes, including Training Mode. Braking is more linear and precise for a more natural feel. The controller supports telemetry. A large aluminum heat sink dissipates heat. The encapsulated electronics are waterproof*.

VX3 controller modes
  • Sport : The default mode is forward driving, braking and reverse driving possible.
  • Race : A mode suitable for racing. Forward and braking are possible; reverse is not available.
  • Training : A mode suitable for children or novice riders. Forward travel is possible with a power limit of 50%, braking and reverse travel again with a power limit of 50%.
TQi Sport receiver

The Traxxas TQi Sport 2.4 GHz three-channel receiver ensures safe control without interruptions. Pairing is easy with one button. Status is indicated by an LED. The receiver has integrated 3-axis MEMS sensors for position and movement sensing.

Traxxas TQi Sport Transmitter

The model is controlled by a Traxxas TQi Sport dual-channel proportional steering transmitter, operating in the 2.4 GHz band - interference-free. The transmitter is powered by only four AA batteries.

There is a rotary knob on the transmitter to trim the steering (so that the model drives straight when the steering wheel is in the center position). The battery status in the transmitter is indicated by an LED. With one button, you can set channel reverse, endpoints, TSM on/off. Also included is:

Traxxas Stability Management

Traxxas Stability Management (TSM) not only allows you to experience power, speed, acceleration and cornering at extreme speeds, but also ensures much easier steering and control on slippery surfaces such as dust, smooth concrete or even ice and snow.

The receiver contains a MEMS 3-axis gyro and accelerometer, which evaluate the model's movement at a rate of 100 times per second and corrects the direction of travel by appropriate interventions in the front wheel steering. Traxxas TSM does not limit engine power - you have 100% control over engine power. The algorithms are tuned for each model separately. TSM can be turned on or off via the TQi Sport transmitter.

Must be purchased

To operate the model, you will need 4 AA batteries (pencil batteries) to power the transmitter, LiPo battery(es), a charger and a suitable body. The model can be operated on 1× 2–3 cell LiPo battery.

For normal driving, one 2S LiPo battery with a capacity of 5000 mAh is sufficient; for maximum driving time, we recommend using a pair of 3S LiPo batteries with a capacity of 5000 mAh. The battery must be equipped with a Traxxas iD power connector. Traxxas EZ-PEAK 50W charger with one output or EZ-PEAK 2x 50W with two outputs for 2 batteries.
