The Traxxas XL-5 ESC allows the model to be powered by a 2S LiPo battery. The nylon chassis provides high strength. The proven Magnum 272 gearbox with adjustable friction clutch is used.
Thanks to the engine being placed behind the rear axle, high traction is ensured. Excellent driving characteristics are given by the precise suspension geometry. The high lift of the arms allows you to overcome even the most demanding terrain.
The controller with three driving modes guarantees fun for adults and children, thanks to the possibility of limiting the power to 50%. Control is provided by a Taraxxas TQ 2.4GHz transmitter with precise steering mechanics. Of course, a wide range of tuning and spare parts is available.

Extreme Heavy Duty kit installed
The factory-installed Extreme Heavy Duty suspension and drivetrain kit is made from the most durable materials.
Stapleless bodywork
The unique body mounting system using lugs in the wheel arches allows for quick and easy battery replacement and a clean look for the model. Unlike traditional clip-on posts, the body fits over a much larger area to the clip-less mount, so it won't crack.
Chassis design
The chassis is made of nylon, which is filled with glass fibers for greater strength and toughness. The engine with gearbox and differential is located in the rear of the model. The drive system forms a compact closed unit, which ensures ease of operation.
Transmission, adjustable disc clutch and planetary differential
The friction clutch transmission reliably transfers engine power to the axles, while the Magnum 272 differential's planetary gear has gears made of hardened steel. This system requires absolutely minimal maintenance. Pinions and gears with different tooth counts are available, so you can fine-tune your model for both speed and technical tracks.
Revo Spec Torque Control friction clutch
The Revo Spec Torque Control adjustable friction clutch ensures smooth power transfer. The correctly set slip ratio protects the drivetrain but does not reduce the model's acceleration.
Oil shock absorbers
The high-travel oil-filled shocks use dual X-rings for a perfect seal and smooth operation. The robust design combined with a high oil volume can absorb even hard impacts in rough terrain. You can tune the shocks to your liking by adjusting the spring preload or changing the oil viscosity.
Power steering
The Traxxas servo 2056 is a standard size digital servo with a DC motor and is waterproof. The servo housing is fitted with a rubber seal for increased water resistance.
Powerful Titan 12T motor
The car model is equipped with a modified Titan 550 12T DC motor. The motor has 30% more power than conventional 540 series motors. The rotor at the rear of the motor contains a propeller that blows air into the motor and effectively cools it.
Traxxas XL 5 electronic controller
Waterproof electronic controller Traxxas XL-5 with three driving modes, support for modern high-capacity LiPo batteries and easy control with the EZ-Set button. The XL-5 controller is equipped with a training mode that limits full throttle to 50%.
Thanks to this, novice drivers or children can gradually get acquainted with the features of the model and prepare for the full performance of the car. Thermal protection, gold-plated connectors and incredibly low internal resistance are the advantages of this controller. Traxxas XL 5 controller modes:
- Sport: Default mode, forward driving, braking and reverse driving are possible.
- Race: A mode suitable for racing. Forward and brake are possible; reverse is not available.
- Training: A mode suitable for children or novice riders. Forward travel with a 50% power limit, braking and reverse travel with a 50% power limit are possible.
RC kit Traxxas TQ 2.4GHz
The model is controlled via a 2-channel Traxxas TQ 2.4GHz steering transmitter, operating in the 2.4 GHz band. The transmitter is powered by only 4 AA batteries. There is a rotary knob on the transmitter that trims the steering (the model runs straight when the steering wheel is in the center position). The battery status in the transmitter is indicated by an LED. The transmitter can be set to reverse on the throttle and steering channels.
Traxxas TQ 2.4GHz receiver
The Traxxas TQ 2.4GHz 3-channel receiver ensures safe, drop-free control. Easy one-button pairing and LED status indication.
USB-C charger
The package includes a NiMH battery and a modern, fully automatic 40 W USB-C charger. The charger allows you to charge 6-7 cell NiMH batteries with a charging current of up to 4 A. The USB-C charger can be powered by any USB adapter and connected with a USB-C cable. However, for full charging performance, it is necessary to choose the right components.

We recommend purchasing
To operate the model, it is necessary to add 4 AA batteries (pencil batteries) for the transmitter. We recommend that the USB-C charger be powered by a powerful USB adapter. The USB adapter and USB-C cable for connection are not included in the package. To use the maximum charging power, it is necessary to choose sufficiently dimensioned components, i.e. Traxxas USB-C 100W power cable and Traxxas USB-C 45W mains adapter.
To extend the driving time, we recommend purchasing an additional battery. For regular driving and for children, we recommend purchasing another identical NiMH battery, which is included in the package.
For maximum flight time and higher performance, you can use modern LiPo batteries. If you use different types of batteries, it is always necessary to set the type of battery connected on the controller!
For normal driving, the Traxxas 8.4V 3000mAh NiMH battery (flat) is ideal, for normal driving with longer driving times the Traxxas 8.4V 5000mAh NiMH battery (high) is ideal, and for maximum driving times the Traxxas 7.4V 5800mAh LiPo battery is ideal. The batteries must be equipped with the Traxxas iD power connector.
Accessories for normal operation
For normal operation of the RC car, you need tire glue, silicone oil for shock absorbers, and a set of Allen screwdrivers.
Tire glue is used to glue the bead of the tire to the rim. It is always necessary to glue the tire firmly around the entire circumference! If the tire is not glued around the entire circumference, it may burst.
Tire glue has a special formula that is able to bond materials such as rubber or nylon, and the bonded joint remains flexible even after hardening. Do not use regular superglue - it is not flexible after hardening, and will gradually cause cracks to form around the rim of the tire.
Screw glue is required for routine maintenance. Screws screwed into metal materials (e.g. screws in a motor or a worm in a pinion) must be secured against loosening with this glue.
Occasionally, it is necessary to add silicone oil to the shock absorbers. During normal operation, only a small amount of silicone oil leaks from the shock absorber piston rods. If the surface of the shock absorber piston rods or the condition of the seals is poor, the oil leakage can be large.
For these cases, so-called repair kits are available. The tuning parts offer includes piston rods with an extremely hard TiN (titanium nitride) coating for all shock absorbers. Piston rods with a TiN coating are easily recognizable by their golden-green color. From our range of silicone oils, we recommend TLR, Traxxas or Medial silicone oils, see recommended accessories.
