The RC model Traxxas TXC-4M Extreme Crawler in 1:18 scale brings a completely new approach to technical driving over obstacles. The new TXC-4M platform provides unparalleled capabilities for overcoming obstacles, off-road driving, and precise trial rides between gates. The model is excellently equipped with a 4-link suspension, portal axles, a high steering angle of 60°, and a fast front axle gearing. The high-performance 4x4 drive is ensured by a brushless motor. The body without clips, featuring a scale tube frame and detailed interior with a driver figure, enhances realism. With Traxxas electronics and driving modes, it ensures smooth and user-friendly operation for the user. The package includes the model, transmitter, battery, and USB charger.

The chassis with a trailing design is tuned to achieve maximum performance. The axles allow for extreme articulation and an ideal weight distribution of 60% front and 40% rear, providing excellent climbing capabilities. With zero front overhang, you can tackle vertical obstacles. Extra grippy tires aid in this capability. For excellent terrain passability, the model has a high ground clearance, further enhanced by the portal axles. The shock absorbers with aluminum bodies are oil-filled. In combination with metal gears and rotating parts housed in ball bearings, you get one of the best small RC crawlers.

For the TXC-4M platform, a new brushless motor, speed controller, and receiver were developed. You can switch between three driving modes, and optional LED lighting is also available for separate purchase. The model can be upgraded using a wide range of original tuning parts.

Brushless Drive 3S

The extreme crawler requires extreme performance, which the TXC-4M model offers thanks to the 3S LiPo brushless drive. This allows for the use of a transmission with a substantial gear ratio, ensuring exceptionally precise power delivery and high torque. The model can overcome challenging obstacles at such a slow speed that it almost seems like it's standing still.

Stiff Chassis

The entirely new monocoque chassis is significantly lighter and stiffer than traditional frames. With its high stiffness, the chassis does not twist even under extreme axle articulation, ensuring precise tracking and stable driving characteristics even in challenging situations.

Steering Angle

The TXC-4M model offers top-notch steering with a wheel turning angle of up to 60°. This guarantees agility and a small turning radius. The 2265 servo with metal gears provides a torque of 5.4 kg·cm. The high-mounted steering link and axle link ensure adequate ground clearance, allowing the model to easily navigate even challenging sections between rocks without getting caught.

Portal Axles

Portal axles increase the ground clearance right at the wheels, providing more space beneath the differential housings. They also reduce unwanted twisting of the model at higher speeds, as a portion of the torque is transferred directly to the wheels. With less twisting, the TXC-4M is more stable and less prone to loss of stability when overcoming rocky obstacles.

Tires

The massive Stone Claw™ tires, measuring 1.3 × 2.8" with beadlock rims, help the TXC-4M model easily conquer even difficult obstacles. The aggressive stepped tread with prominent blocks maximizes the number of gripping edges for maximum traction. These tires outperform the best tuning tires. They are made from a soft rubber compound that adapts excellently to surfaces and provides extraordinary grip on rocks.

Battery and Charger

The TXC-4M model comes with a powerful 3S LiPo battery and a fast USB charger. You can power the USB charger from any USB adapter or outlet. The charger with Traxxas iD™ technology automatically balances the battery cells and ensures proper charging.

Model Construction

Chassis

TXC-4M uses a sophisticated four-point triangular suspension with bent links. The high-mounted links ensure excellent center ground clearance, allowing the model to perfectly tackle obstacles.

Weight Distribution

The model is balanced in a 60/40% ratio in favor of the front axle, which is additionally loaded with weights on the hubs. This increased weight on the front wheels allows for steeper climbs, greater traction when climbing, and overall better balance.

Fast Front Axle Gearing

The model is geared so that the front wheels turn slightly faster than the rear ones. Imagine driving up a steep slope while the model is tilted. This shifts weight onto the rear wheels, and as the model tilts more steeply, it approaches the tipping point. By adding throttle, even more weight is transferred to the rear tires, increasing their traction while the front tires maintain only minimal grip. The higher speed of the front axle helps pull the model up the slope and over obstacles, rather than just being pushed by the rear axle.

High Climbing Angles

The TXC-4M model is ready to conquer even extremely steep ascents. It can manage a driving slope of up to 56.3° and a static slope of up to 79.8°. Thanks to optimal weight distribution with the center of gravity shifted forward, a low center of gravity chassis, and extraordinarily grippy tires, the TXC-4M offers excellent capabilities when overcoming challenging obstacles.

Small Turning Radius

When driving on a technically challenging course, even millimeters matter – they can mean the difference between passing through a gate and falling off a rocky obstacle. The TXC-4M pushes the boundaries of maneuverability with an incredible wheel turning angle of up to 60°, ensuring a very small turning radius.

GTM Pro Oil Shocks

For exceptional wheel travel and adaptability to terrain, the shocks are mounted more horizontally. The shock bodies are aluminum. The oil in the shocks provides realistic properties and driving behavior. The oil seals at the piston rod are ensured by two silicone X-rings.

Front Weights

Steel front weights on the hubs add weight and load the front steering, lowering the center of gravity closer to the ground.

Steel Gearbox Cover

Another element that increases the loading and grip of the front axle is the steel gearbox cover. This further shifts the weight distribution forward.

4WD Drive System

Transmission

The TXC-4M model’s single-speed transmission is equipped with all-metal gears for maximum durability. Ball bearings with sealing covers ensure smooth operation and precise power transmission. The motor is directly mounted to the transmission, allowing for quick and easy disassembly.

Center Drive Shafts

The robust center drive shafts have a telescopic design that allows free extension and retraction of the chassis. This enables the wheels to achieve maximum travel without limiting suspension movement. The CV joints ensure smooth power transfer and long-term reliable operation.

Steel Drive Shafts

The steel drive shafts are solid, extra stiff, with no problems transferring 3S power directly to the wheels. The cardan joints are also steel and allow turning at an angle.

Differentials

Both the front and rear solid axles have closed differentials that ensure continuous power transfer to all four wheels without slipping. The metal differential gears and steel shafts guarantee high resistance under load.

Portal Axles

Portal axles with axle gear increase ground clearance, reduce stress on the transmission and drive shafts, and further reduce torsional forces – the model tilts less during acceleration.

Wheels and Tires

The 1.3" Method Race Wheels 105 rims are equipped with a beadlock system that securely holds the tire bead. The rims have a standard 7 mm hex hub. For even better stability, brass wheel weights are available for separate purchase.

The Stone Claw tires, measuring 1.3 × 2.8", were developed specifically for the TXC-4M model. Lightweight foam inserts allow the tires to optimally adapt to surfaces and ensure maximum grip when overcoming obstacles.

Design and Body

Clipless Body

The unique body mounting system clips at the front into the chassis and is secured at the rear with a practical catch. It holds firmly in place even during challenging off-road driving, yet can be easily removed in seconds.
