The RC model Traxxas TXC-4M Extreme Crawler in 1:18 scale brings a completely new approach to technical driving over obstacles. The new TXC-4M platform provides unmatched capabilities for overcoming obstacles, off-road driving, and precise trial driving between gates. The model is excellently equipped with a 4-link suspension, portal axles, a high steering angle of 60°, and a fast front axle drive. High performance for 4x4 drive is ensured by a brushless motor. The clipless body with scale tubular frame and detailed interior with a driver figure enhances realism. With electronics and driving modes, Traxxas ensures smooth and user-friendly operation. The package includes the model, transmitter, battery, and USB charger.

The chassis with a link design is tuned to achieve maximum performance. The axles allow for extreme articulation and an ideal weight distribution of 60% front and 40% rear, providing climbing capabilities. With zero front overhang, you can approach steep obstacles. This is aided by extra grip tires. For excellent terrain passability, the model has a high ground clearance, further enhanced by portal axles. The shocks with aluminum bodies are oil-filled. Combined with metal gears and rotating parts housed in ball bearings, you get one of the best small RC crawlers.

For the TXC-4M platform, a new brushless motor, regulator, and receiver were developed. You can switch between three driving modes, and optional LED lighting is also available. The model can be upgraded using a wide range of original tuning parts.

Brushless Drive 3S

The extreme crawler requires extreme performance, which the TXC-4M model offers thanks to its brushless drive powered by 3S LiPo. This allows for the use of a gearbox with a significant gear ratio, ensuring exceptionally precise power delivery and high torque. The model can overcome difficult obstacles at such a slow speed that it almost seems to stand still.

Stiff Chassis

The all-new monocoque chassis is significantly lighter and stiffer than traditional frames. Due to its high rigidity, the chassis does not twist even during extreme axle articulation, ensuring precise tracking and sure handling even in challenging situations.

Steering Angle

The TXC-4M model offers top-notch steering with a wheel angle of up to 60°. This guarantees agility and a small turning radius. The 2265 servo with metal gears provides a torque of 5.4 kg·cm. The high-mounted steering linkage and axle linkage ensure sufficient ground clearance, allowing the model to easily traverse even challenging sections between rocks without snagging.

Portal Axles

Portal axles increase ground clearance directly at the wheels, providing more space under the gearboxes. At the same time, they reduce unwanted twisting of the model at higher speeds, as part of the torque is transferred directly to the wheels. With reduced twisting, the TXC-4M is more stable and less prone to losing stability when overcoming rocky obstacles.

Tires

The massive Stone Claw™ tires measuring 1.3" × 2.8" with beadlock rims help the TXC-4M model easily overcome even demanding obstacles. The aggressive stepped tread with prominent blocks maximizes the number of gripping edges for maximum traction. The tires outperform even the best tuning tires. They are made from a soft rubber compound that excellently conforms to the surface and provides exceptional grip on rocks.

Battery and Charger

The TXC-4M model comes with a powerful 3S LiPo battery and a fast USB charger. The USB charger can be powered from any USB adapter or outlet. The charger with Traxxas iD™ technology automatically balances the battery cells and ensures proper charging.

Model Construction

Chassis

The TXC-4M utilizes a sophisticated four-link triangular suspension with bent links. The high-mounted links ensure excellent center ground clearance, allowing the model to conquer obstacles perfectly.

Weight Distribution

The model is balanced at a ratio of 60/40% in favor of the front axle, which is additionally weighted on the hubs. The added load on the front wheels allows for steeper ascents, greater traction when climbing, and overall better balance.

Fast Front Axle Drive

The model is geared so that the front wheels rotate slightly faster than the rear. Imagine driving up a steep slope with the model tilted. This shifts the weight onto the rear wheels, and of course, the steeper the model is tilted, the closer it is to the tipping point. By adding throttle, even more weight is transferred to the rear tires, increasing their traction while leaving very little grip. The higher speed of the front axle helps to pull the model up the slope and over obstacles, instead of just being pushed by the rear axle.

High Climbing Angles

The TXC-4M model is ready to tackle even extremely steep ascents. It can handle a driving angle of up to 56.3° and a static angle of up to 79.8° straight from the factory. With optimal weight distribution and a forward-shifted center of gravity, low center of gravity chassis, and exceptionally grippy tires, the TXC-4M offers outstanding capabilities in overcoming demanding obstacles.

Small Turning Radius

When driving on a technically demanding track, even millimeters count – they can mean the difference between passing through a gate and falling off a rocky obstacle. The TXC-4M pushes the boundaries of maneuverability with an exceptional wheel angle of up to 60°, providing a very small turning radius.

GTM Pro Oil Shocks

For exceptional wheel travel and the ability to adapt to terrain, the shocks are mounted more horizontally. The bodies of the shocks are aluminum. The oil in the shocks provides realistic characteristics and driving performance. Oil sealing on the piston rod is ensured by two silicone X-rings.

Front Weights

Steel front weights on the hubs add weight and load the front wheels, pulling the center of gravity closer to the ground.

Steel Gearbox Cover

Another element that increases loading and traction on the front axle is the steel gearbox cover. This further shifts the weight distribution forward.

4WD Powertrain

Transmission

The TXC-4M model features a single-speed transmission equipped with all-metal gears for maximum durability. Sealed ball bearings ensure smooth operation and precise power transfer. The motor is directly mounted to the transmission, allowing for quick and easy disassembly.

Center Drive Shafts

The robust center drive shafts have a telescopic design that allows for free extension and retraction under the chassis. This enables the wheels to achieve maximum travel without limiting suspension movement. CV joints ensure smooth power transfer and long-term reliability.

Steel Drive Shafts

Steel drive shafts are solid, extra stiff, with no issues transferring 3S power directly to the wheels. The universal joints are also steel and allow for steering at an angle.

Differentials

Both front and rear solid axles have closed differentials that ensure consistent power transfer to all four wheels without slipping. Metal gear differentials and steel shafts guarantee high durability under load.

Portal Axles

Portal axles with axle gearing increase ground clearance, reduce stress on the transmission and drive shafts, and further lower torsional force – the model leans less during acceleration.

Wheels and Tires

The 1.3" Method Race Wheels 105 rims are equipped with a beadlock system that securely holds the tire bead. The rims feature a standard 7 mm hex hub. For even better stability, brass wheel weights can be purchased separately.

The Stone Claw tires measuring 1.3" × 2.8" were specifically developed for the TXC-4M model. Lightweight foam inserts allow the tires to optimally conform to the surface and ensure maximum traction when overcoming obstacles.

Design and Body

Clipless Body

The unique body attachment system snaps into the chassis at the front and is secured at the rear with a practical latch. It holds firmly in place even during demanding off-road driving, yet can be easily removed in seconds.
