The RC model Traxxas TXC-4M Extreme Crawler in 1:18 scale brings a completely new approach to technical driving over obstacles. The new TXC-4M platform provides unparalleled capabilities for overcoming obstacles, driving in terrain, and precise trial driving between gates. The model is excellently equipped with a 4-link suspension, portal axles, a high steering angle of 60°, and a quick run front axle. High performance for 4x4 drive is ensured by a brushless motor. The clipless body with a scale tubular frame and detailed interior with a driver figurine increases realism. With Traxxas electronics and driving modes, it ensures hassle-free and user-friendly operation. The package includes the model, transmitter, battery, and USB charger.

The chassis with a trailing construction is tuned to achieve maximum performance. The axles allow for extreme articulation and ideal weight distribution of 60% front and 40% rear, providing excellent climbing abilities. With zero front overhang, you can tackle vertical obstacles. This is aided by extra grip tires. For excellent terrain passability, the model has high ground clearance, which is further enhanced by portal axles. The aluminum-bodied shocks are oil-filled. Combined with metal gears and rotating parts housed in ball bearings, you get one of the best small RC crawlers.

For the TXC-4M platform, a new brushless motor, controller, and receiver have been developed. You can switch between three driving modes, and there is also optional LED lighting available separately. The model can be upgraded with a wide range of original tuning parts.

Brushless Drive 3S

The extreme crawler requires extreme power, which the TXC-4M model offers thanks to brushless drive powered by a 3S LiPo. This allows for the use of a transmission with a significant gear ratio, ensuring exceptionally precise power delivery and high torque. The model can overcome challenging obstacles at such slow speeds that it almost seems to stand still.

Stiff Chassis

The entirely new monocoque chassis is significantly lighter and stiffer than traditional frames. Thanks to its high stiffness, the chassis does not twist even during extreme axle articulation, ensuring precise tracking and stable driving characteristics even in demanding situations.

Steering Angle

The TXC-4M model offers top-notch steering with a wheel turning angle of up to 60°. This guarantees agility and a small turning radius. The 2265 servo with metal gears provides a torque of 5.4 kg·cm. The high-mounted steering link and axle link ensure adequate ground clearance, allowing the model to easily traverse challenging rocky sections without getting snagged.

Portal Axles

The portal axles raise the ground clearance directly at the wheels, providing more space below the gearbox housings. They also reduce unwanted twisting of the model at higher speeds, as part of the torque is transferred directly to the wheels. With less twisting, the TXC-4M is more stable and less prone to losing stability while overcoming rocky obstacles.

Tires

The massive Stone Claw™ tires measuring 1.3 × 2.8" with beadlock rims help the TXC-4M easily overcome even challenging obstacles. The aggressive step tread with prominent blocks maximizes the number of gripping edges for maximum traction. The tires outperform even the best tuning tires. They are made from a soft rubber compound that adapts excellently to surfaces, providing exceptional grip on rocks.

Battery and Charger

The TXC-4M model comes with a powerful 3S LiPo battery and a quick USB charger. You can power the USB charger from any USB adapter or output. The charger with Traxxas iD™ technology automatically balances the battery cells and ensures correct charging.

Model Construction

Chassis

The TXC-4M features a sophisticated four-point triangle suspension with bent links. The high-mounted links ensure excellent center ground clearance, allowing the model to tackle obstacles superbly.

Weight Distribution

The model is balanced in a ratio of 60/40% in favor of the front axle, which is additionally weighted on the knuckles. The higher load on the front wheels allows for steeper climbs, greater traction when crawling, and overall better balance.

Quick Run Front Axle

The model is geared such that the front wheels rotate slightly faster than the rear. Imagine driving up a steep slope with the model tilted. This shifts weight to the rear wheels, and of course, the steeper the model is tilted, the closer it gets to the tipping point. By adding throttle, even more weight is transferred to the rear tires, increasing their traction while leaving very little adhesion. The higher speed of the front axle helps pull the model up the slope and over obstacles, rather than just pushing it with the rear axle.

High Climbing Angles

The TXC-4M model is ready to tackle even extremely steep climbs. Out of the box, it can handle a driving incline of up to 56.3° and a static incline of up to 79.8°. Thanks to optimal weight distribution with the center of gravity shifted forward, a low center of gravity chassis, and exceptionally grippy tires, the TXC-4M offers excellent capabilities in overcoming challenging obstacles.

Small Turning Radius

When driving on a technically challenging course, even millimeters count – they can mean the difference between passing through a gate and falling off a rocky obstacle. The TXC-4M pushes the boundaries of maneuverability with an exceptional wheel turning angle of up to 60°, ensuring a very small turning radius.

GTM Pro Oil Shocks

For exceptional wheel travel and terrain adaptability, the shocks are mounted more horizontally. The shock bodies are aluminum. The oil in the shocks provides realistic properties and driving behavior. The oil seal on the piston rod is ensured by two silicone X-rings.

Front Weights

Steel front weights on the knuckles add weight and load the front wheels, pushing the center of gravity closer to the ground.

Steel Gearbox Cover

Another element that increases the load and grip of the front axle is the steel gearbox cover. This further shifts the weight distribution forward.

4WD Powertrain

Transmission

The single-speed transmission of the TXC-4M model is equipped with all-metal gears for maximum durability. Ball bearings with sealing covers ensure smooth operation and precise power transfer. The motor is mounted directly to the transmission, allowing for quick and easy disassembly.

Center Drive Shafts

The robust center drive shafts have a telescopic design that allows them to extend and retract freely within the chassis. This enables the wheels to achieve maximum travel without restriction of suspension movement. CV joints ensure smooth power transfer and long-lasting reliable operation.

Steel Drive Shafts

Steel drive shafts are strong, extra stiff, with no issues transferring 3S power directly to the wheels. The universal joints are also steel and allow for angled steering.

Gearboxes

Both the front and rear solid axles feature closed gearboxes, ensuring constant power transfer to all four wheels without slippage. Metal gear transmission and steel shafts guarantee high durability under load.

Portal Axles

Portal axles with axle gearboxes increase ground clearance, reduce stress on the transmission and drive shafts, and further reduce torsional forces – the model tilts less during acceleration.

Wheels and Tires

The 1.3" Method Race Wheels 105 rims are equipped with a beadlock system that securely holds the tire bead. The rims feature a standard 7 mm hex hub. For even better stability, brass wheel weights that are sold separately can be purchased.

The Stone Claw tires measuring 1.3 × 2.8" were developed specifically for the TXC-4M model. Lightweight foam inserts allow the tires to adapt optimally to surfaces and ensure maximum grip in overcoming obstacles.

Design and Body

Clipless Body

The unique body mounting system clips in at the front to the chassis and attaches at the rear using a practical snap. It holds firmly in place even during challenging off-road rides, yet can be easily removed in seconds.
