Product Description
Traxxas TRA120074-1-BLUE - 1:18 Traxxas TXC-4M RTR Extreme Crawler - modrý
The RC model Traxxas TXC-4M Extreme Crawler in 1:18 scale brings a completely new approach to technical driving over obstacles. The new TXC-4M platform delivers unparalleled capabilities for overcoming obstacles, off-road driving, and precise trial driving between gates. The model is excellently equipped with a 4-link suspension, portal axles, a high steering angle of 60°, and a fast front axle. High performance for the 4x4 drive is ensured by a brushless motor. The clipless body with a scale tubular frame and detailed interior featuring a driver figure enhances realism. With Traxxas electronics and driving modes, it ensures seamless and user-friendly operation. The package includes the model, transmitter, battery, and USB charger.
The chassis with a trailing construction is tuned to achieve maximum performance. The axles allow extreme articulation and optimal weight distribution of 60% front and 40% rear, providing outstanding climbing capabilities. With zero front overhang, you can tackle vertical obstacles. This is aided by extra-grippy tires. For excellent terrain clearance, the model has a high ground clearance, further enhanced by portal axles. The shock absorbers with aluminum bodies are filled with oil. Combined with metal gears and rotating parts housed in ball bearings, you get one of the best small RC crawlers.
For the TXC-4M platform, new brushless motor, controller, and receiver have been developed. You can switch between three driving modes, and optional LED lighting is also available separately. The model can be upgraded with a wide range of original tuning parts.
Overview of Features.
Brushless Power 3S
The extreme crawler requires extreme power, which the TXC-4M model offers thanks to its brushless drive powered by a 3S LiPo. This allows the use of a transmission with significant gear ratios, ensuring exceptionally precise power delivery and high torque. The model can conquer challenging obstacles at such slow speeds that it almost seems to be standing still.
Stiff Chassis
The brand-new monocoque chassis is significantly lighter and stiffer than traditional frames. The high stiffness of the chassis prevents twisting even during extreme axle articulation, ensuring precise tracking and stable driving characteristics in demanding situations.
Steering Angle
The TXC-4M model offers top-notch steering with a wheel turning angle of up to 60°. This guarantees agility and a small turning radius. The 2265 servo with metal gears provides a torque of 5.4 kg·cm. The high-mounted steering link and axle link ensure sufficient ground clearance, allowing the model to easily traverse challenging sections among rocks without getting caught.
Portal Axles
Portal axles increase ground clearance directly at the wheels, providing more space under the differential housings. At the same time, they reduce unwanted twisting of the model at higher speeds as some of the torque is transferred directly to the wheels. With reduced twisting, the TXC-4M is more stable and less prone to losing stability when navigating rocky obstacles.
Tires
Massive Stone Claw™ tires measuring 1.3 × 2.8" with beadlock rims help the TXC-4M model easily overcome even challenging obstacles. The aggressive step pattern with prominent blocks maximizes the number of gripping edges for maximum traction. These tires outperform even the best tuned tires. They are made from a soft rubber compound that conforms excellently to surfaces and provides extraordinary grip on rocks.
Battery and Charger
The TXC-4M model comes with a powerful 3S LiPo battery and a quick USB charger. You can power the USB charger from any USB adapter or output. The Traxxas iD™ technology charger automatically balances the battery cells and ensures proper charging.
Model Construction
Chassis
The TXC-4M utilizes a sophisticated four-point triangulated suspension with bent links. The high-mounted links provide excellent center ground clearance, allowing the model to perfectly conquer obstacles.
Weight Distribution
The model is balanced in a ratio of 60/40% in favor of the front axle, which is additionally weighted with ballast on the spindles. Increased weight on the front wheels allows for steeper climbs, greater traction while climbing, and overall better balance.
Fast Front Axle
The model is geared such that the front wheels spin slightly faster than the rear wheels. Imagine climbing a steep slope while the model is tilted. This shifts the weight onto the rear wheels, and of course, the steeper the model tilts, the closer it gets to the tipping point. By adding throttle, even more weight shifts to the rear tires, increasing their traction while leaving only minimal grip. The higher speed of the front axle helps pull the model up the slope and over obstacles, rather than just pushing it from the rear axle.
High Climbing Angles
The TXC-4M model is ready to tackle extremely steep climbs. From the factory, it can handle a driving incline of up to 56.3° and a static incline of up to 79.8°. With optimal weight distribution and a forward center of gravity, a low center of gravity chassis, and extraordinarily grippy tires, the TXC-4M offers excellent capabilities in overcoming challenging obstacles.
Small Turning Radius
On technically challenging courses, even millimeters count – they can make the difference between passing through a gate and falling off a rocky obstacle. The TXC-4M pushes the boundaries of maneuverability thanks to an exceptional wheel turning angle of up to 60°, resulting in a very small turning radius.
Oil Shock Absorbers GTM Pro
For exceptional wheel travel and terrain adaptability, the shocks are mounted more horizontally. The shock bodies are aluminum. Oil in the shocks provides realistic properties and ride feel. Oil sealing on the piston rod is ensured by two silicone X-rings.
Front Weights
Steel front weights on the spindles add weight and load the front axle, pushing the center of gravity closer to the ground.
Steel Gearbox Cover
Another element that increases the load and grip of the front axle is the steel gearbox cover. This shifts the weight distribution even further forward.
4WD Drive System
Transmission
The TXC-4M model's single-speed transmission is equipped with all-metal gears for maximum durability. Sealed ball bearings ensure smooth operation and precise power transfer. The motor is directly mounted to the transmission, allowing for quick and easy disassembly.
Center Drive Shafts
Robust center drive shafts have a telescopic design allowing them to extend and retract freely within the chassis. This enables the wheels to achieve maximum travel without limiting suspension movement. CV joints ensure smooth power transfer and reliable long-term operation.
Steel Drive Shafts
Steel drive shafts are solid, extra stiff, and transfer 3S power directly to the wheels without issues. The drive joints are also steel and allow steering at an angle.
Differentials
Both front and rear solid axles have enclosed differentials that ensure constant power transfer to all four wheels without slipping. Metal gear differentials and steel shafts guarantee high durability under load.
Portal Axles
Portal axles with axle differentials increase ground clearance, reduce stress on the gearbox and drive shafts, and further decrease torsional force – the model tilts less during acceleration.
Wheels and Tires
Method Race Wheels 105 rims with a diameter of 1.3" are equipped with a beadlock system that securely holds the tire bead in place. The rims feature a standard 7mm hex hub. For even better stability, brass wheel weights are available separately.
The Stone Claw tires measuring 1.3 × 2.8" have been specifically developed for the TXC-4M model. Lightweight foam inserts allow the tires to optimally conform to surfaces and ensure maximum grip when overcoming obstacles.
Design and Body
Clipless Body
The unique body mounting system clips in at the front to the chassis and is secured at the rear with a practical hook. It stays firmly in place even during challenging off-road driving, yet can be easily removed within seconds.
