E-flite offers a great replica of the DHC-6 Twin Otter twin-engine transport aircraft. The model from Elapor is made in molds. The wing with a semi-symmetrical profile is one-piece, attached to the fuselage with a single central screw. The nacelles are supported by struts to the main landing gear for greater rigidity. Assembly takes no more time than charging your propulsion battery.
Twin Otter is fully equipped with servos and power units. 6 servos are installed, rudder, elevator, ailerons, flaps, nose gear and engine speed are controlled. Brushless motors with regulators are installed in the wing nacelles. Power is provided by only one LiPo 3S 3200 mAh battery (not included).
The BNF version comes with a Spektrum AR636 2.4GHz receiver with SAFE Select. The receiver can be paired with your Spektrum transmitter without SAFE and fly without any restrictions. If you choose to pair the receiver with SAFE, you will have flight envelope protection.
Features of the DHC-6 Twin Otter model:
AS3X stabilization
The Spektrum AR636 receiver is equipped with AS3X technology, which helps stabilize the model in flight. The receiver contains a three-axis MEMS gyro and an accelerometer. Thanks to electronic stabilization, the control of the model is simplified, for example in windy weather. The model reacts similarly to a much larger model, and the flight is therefore much quieter. AS3X simply brings more confidence in control.
SAFE Select technology for beginners
Thanks to the SAFE Select technology, even a less experienced pilot can control the model. The SAFE system prevents over-banking in turns and also limits climb and descent. Simply releasing the controller sticks returns the model to level flight. These functions will be appreciated especially by novice pilots who have not yet fully mastered the necessary habits.
As the name SAFE Select suggests, it is an optional feature – it is up to you whether you want to use SAFE technology or disable it. The pairing method determines whether SAFE should be enabled or disabled. Furthermore, SAFE can be enabled or disabled during flight using a free transmitter channel.

AC motors
Brushless motors are installed in the wing nacelles. Power is provided by a single LiPo battery pack, which is placed in the fuselage after the cabin is folded down.
Versatile thanks to the equipment
The Twin Otter comes standard with a rigid chassis with a steerable bow leg. However, thanks to the floats included in the set, you can change the configuration in a moment and hit the water.
Functional elements
The installed landing and navigation LED lights are powered by the LiPo battery. The functional flaps are very useful during takeoff and landing. They significantly reduce the flight speed, making takeoff and landing much safer and in a smaller space.
Rigid and durable construction
The technology of manufacturing models in precise molds from Elapor material is already sufficiently proven. The result is precise parts with smooth surfaces and details. Moreover, thanks to the precise manufacturing, the models fly excellently and are easy to repair.
Like a seaplane
The assembly of the floats consists of installing the wire structure for attaching the floats, removing the bow leg and mounting the floats on the hull with the connection of the rod to the rudder. After mounting the floats, it is necessary to check the position of the center of gravity, usually it is enough to move the propulsion battery all the way forward.
Transporting the model
The model can be placed in most passenger cars already assembled. If disassembly is necessary, it is very simple. The wing is fastened with one central screw, which can be loosened or tightened by hand. The gondola struts are mounted in the holders without screws, so you do not need tools to assemble or disassemble the wing.
Package contents
The package includes a fully assembled and equipped model, installed Spektrum AR636 2.4GHz receiver with SAFE Select function, LED lighting and complete wiring. The package also includes a complete set of floats, two propellers with cones, complete landing gear, instructions in Czech and manual in EN, DE, FR, IT.
Must be purchased
To operate the model, you will need a 6-channel Spektrum DSMX/DSM2 RC kit, a 3S LiPo battery with a capacity of 2200–3200 mAh equipped with an EC3/IC3 connector, and a compatible charger.
