Plastic kit of the American World War II fighter aircraft Curtiss P-40N Warhawk. WEEKEND edition in 1:48 scale.

Template information

The Curtiss P-40N was the final and most produced variant of the legendary Warhawk. The designers focused on radically reducing weight by removing some of the armament and installing lighter aluminum radiators to compensate for the performance of the then-obsolete Allison engine. The most striking visual change was a completely redesigned rear canopy that significantly improved the pilot's rearward visibility and gave the aircraft its characteristic elongated profile.

Most of the N-version aircraft saw service in the Pacific theater of operations in China and Southeast Asia, where they proved to be extremely robust and reliable aircraft, capable of operating from jungle airfields. Their durability and ability to carry significant bomb loads made them popular for combat missions and direct support of ground troops against Japanese forces. The P-40N became a symbol of American Air Force endurance and served in many Allied armies for several years after the end of the war, thanks to its low maintenance requirements.
