Plastic kit of the German WWII fighter plane Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-6 in 1:48 scale.

Template information

With over 30,000 built, the Messerschmitt Bf 109 is the most numerous fighter aircraft in the world. The most widespread variant of this type, designated G-6, was built in 13,000 units. In response to the improved performance of Allied aircraft, the Messerschmitt Bf 109 G was equipped with a more powerful DB605 engine, and from the G-6 version onwards it carried a more powerful machine gun armament, specifically two 13mm MG13 machine guns, the installation of which required characteristic bulges in front of the cabin.

Some aircraft were also equipped with 20mm cannons mounted in underwing pods, further increasing their firepower. The Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-6 saw service on both the Western and Eastern Fronts, where its superiority was particularly evident. The type remained in service throughout World War II.
