Template information
The JSF (Joint Strike Fighter) program aimed to develop a 5th generation multirole fighter aircraft that could replace the current aircraft used by the United States and some NATO members. As part of the JSF program, Lockheed Martin designed the single-seat, single-engine F-35 Lightning II. This stealth aircraft is characterized by its trapezoidal wings, the use of the most modern high-tech materials and cutting-edge avionics.
The F-35, which has been developed in several configurations, is designed to gain and maintain air supremacy, as well as provide air support to ground forces. The F-35A version is a conventional take-off and landing aircraft. The F-35B variant has the capability of short take-off and vertical landing. Finally, the F-35C version with folding wings is designed for operation on aircraft carriers. The F-35 is considered the reference combat aircraft of the 21st century, thanks to its versatility and the use of the most modern technologies.
