The RGT Ripper (18800) is a high-performance expedition rock crawler model in 1/18 scale, delivered in Ready-To-Run (RTR) configuration. The model was developed with a focus on low center of gravity (LCG) and maximum terrain permeability. The chassis is based on a specifically shaped "skid-style" frame with a 5° skid plate angle for smooth overcoming of edges and obstacles.
The chassis uses a V-type eight-link suspension and a two-speed low-mounted gearbox. The weight distribution is optimized at approximately 60% on the front and 40% on the rear axle, which increases the resistance to overturning on slopes. The use of portal axles with a reduction gear at the wheels increases ground clearance while reducing mechanical stress on the central gearbox.
The drive is provided by the Hobbywing WP-MINI24-RTR brushless system. The motor is characterized by high torque at low speeds, smooth running and quiet operation. The controller (ESC) allows you to adjust the brake force in neutral (drag brake) in eight stages and has protection against battery undervoltage, overheating and signal loss. The system is compatible with 2S and 3S LiPo batteries.
The mechanical components are designed for high durability. The transmission consists of all-metal gears and shafts made of hardened #45 steel. The suspension is provided by oil dampers with extra soft springs. The model achieves approach angles exceeding 90° and a transition angle exceeding 50°, making it a highly effective tool for technical climbing.
