Consolidated B-24 Liberator was the beginning of II. World War II is the same as specifying the B-17 Flying Fortress - as a long day bomber that does not need an escort fighters. Compared to the older B-17 was somewhat aerodynamically advanced wing due to the large slenderness with a modern profile, also used the nose landing gear (bow leg of a downed Liberator postoužila even as a model for German jet fighter Me-262 Schwalbe). The "collision with reality," in light of the heavy losses, which brought such raid at the treetops at refineries and oil fields in Ploiesti, Romania, but pointed to the need of numerous modifications, like the B-17. Liberators then proved not only as bombers (eg here in Pardubice hundred Liberators from Italian bases leveled local refinery, including the adjacent station, a sugar factory and the legendary Hotel Veselka), but also as a long-distance reconnaissance machines with bomb bay filled battery of cameras, and especially as an extremely effective anti-submarine aircraft. Just such Liberators are inextricably linked with the histories of 311 Czechoslovak Bomber Squadron. In addition to several submarines was the most valuable catch "our" Liberator German blockade runner Alsterufer, fast transport ship carrying a cargo of the Empire of Japan into tungsten, which would suffice for annual steel production for the German "Panzer". 27th December 1943, 500 miles northwest of Cape Finisterre, to attack the ship hiding under low clouds and bristling with anti-aircraft guns fell Liberator crew with P / O Ulrich Dolezal. Model is a classic balsa construction in Rozsyp with předseknutými wooden parts, scale accessories from vacuum-molded plastic and plastic parts drawn by injection molding. The hull is constructed of course right minimaketářskou technology with baffles and a plurality of longitudinal, allowing faithfully reproduce the rounded shapes. Built in two steps - thanks to "slit" in the vertical plane stand directly on the countertop first half of the fuselage, and then the "dolepíte" half a second. Thus it is ensured that the hull complicated shapes stand straight and symmetrical, without needing any special preparations. The wing is built of classic ribs and beams. Given that it is a model for advanced builders, you should already have prior experience with classical building.

Kit includes: předseknuté balsa parts, balsa wood beams, vacuum molded parts Scale (bonnets, engines ...), clear acetate pressings of the cockpit and nose "greenhouse" plastic wheels, steel strings on chassis and other small parts, lining paper wet decal sheet, building plan.

Tip for building: Předseknuté parts NEVYLAMUJTE! Turn the cutting board, place it on a work surface and lightly sand the fine sandpaper (No. 220 or finer). Parts can then be easily separated; should still have some wood fibers "bound" to a cutting board, carefully separate the part of the pattern, using a sharp knife (suitable as Excel No.1 knife with a blade 11).
