Anyone can fly the SLING Mini, almost anywhere! With a small RC tosser made of almost indestructible EPO foam and carbon composites, you can have fun at home or on a trip to foreign lands. All you need is at least a 4-channel RC kit with a miniature receiver with S.BUS or DSM2 serial output and you can take to the air right away. And the disc start will make you really "shake your bones"!
The SLING Mini has a front fuselage with a removable cabin made of a plastic molding, into which the carbon tail beam is anchored. The nose houses the receiver's 1S LiPo battery 170 mAh and the electronics board with two rudder and elevator servos and an S.BUS/DSM2 decoder. The rudders are controlled by wire rods guided inside the tail beam.
The wing is made of almost indestructible EPO foam with a carbon main spar and plastic end arch reinforcements each equipped with three holes for inserting a carbon pin for a disc launch. This means that the model can be "thrown" equally easily by right-handed and left-handed people.
By moving the position of the pin relative to the center of gravity, you can optimize the model's take-off behavior with respect to the strength of the wind and your swing. The wing is attached to the fuselage with two polyamide screws, so the entire model can be folded into a fairly small volume for a trip or vacation.
The tail surfaces are also made of EPO foam.
To control the model, you will need at least a 4-channel RC kit with a miniature receiver (capable of operating on a 1S LiPo battery) equipped with a serial S.BUS or DSM2 output. Simply connect the receiver to the corresponding input on the model's electronics board. The decoder channel assignment is fixed: elevator is channel 2, rudder channel 4.
The receiver and servos are powered by a miniature 1S LiPo battery 3.7 V with a capacity of 170 mAh, which can be easily charged with the USB charger also supplied with the model.
You can launch the SLING Mini with a classic throw, but the real fun starts with a discus throw, the way "adult" competition RC throwers are launched today. The instructions include a mini comic - a step-by-step picture description of the correct discus throw. So you don't have to worry about not mastering the correct technique to throw the SLING Mini really high!
