KAVAN Flix DLG 850mm Kit

The new FLIX DLG is a small but very powerful RC discus thrower, with which you can run out of the barn to any larger area and have a good time. Moreover, this RC discus thrower for a circular start will make you move your body - because a properly executed discus throw is quite a sporting feat!

The small RC tosser is also ideal for anyone who wants to build models themselves, in the classic way from balsa, plywood, spruce beams and carbon. The FLIX DLG is a fairly simple model in terms of construction, which is not suitable as the very first model for someone without any previous experience, but if you have already built "at least something structural", you should not have any problems.

The FLIX DLG model was designed and manufactured in the Czech Republic.

The small high-performance RC glider kit is a classic very light all-balsa construction in bulk and is an ideal project for modelers who want to build a really powerful model for recreational flying. Thanks to the well-thought-out design with CNC-cut parts equipped with protrusions and notches that fit together like pieces of a puzzle, construction is very quick and easy, also thanks to the fact that the wing can be built on a flat board without the need for additional tools.

The front part of the fuselage is a nacelle simply created by layering CNC-cut parts from balsa and lightweight plywood. The space for the rudder and elevator servos is located in the fuselage under a removable side cover with a magnetic closure. The tail part of the fuselage is a carbon tube beam with a glued laminate bed for attaching the horizontal tail.

The one-piece wing is a classic design with balsa ribs, a main spar made of thin-walled carbon tube and balsa leading and trailing edges, which guarantees high frame strength at a very low weight. The wing is attached to the fuselage with a screw. The wing design allows for the possibility of placing a pin for a disc start in the properly reinforced left (for right-handed pilots) and right (for left-handed pilots) end of the wing.

The tail surfaces are made of panels, glued from CNC-cut balsa parts. The rudders are controlled by wire cables.

You can cover the model with iron-on transfer foil – lighter transparent foils Oralight®, Vlies or similar materials are preferred.

To control the model, you will need at least a two-channel RC kit. A good 2–3 g picoservo with a thrust of about 0.5 kg·cm will suffice for both rudder and elevator.

A single 350–450 mAh LiPo cell is ideal for powering on-board electronics.

The kit includes: CNC-cut balsa and plywood parts, carbon tube wing spars, carbon tube tail spar, accessory kit, sheet of self-adhesive decals, 1:1 scale building plan and instructions.
