The AeroScout S 2 beginner RC model airplane with a wingspan of 1.1 m is ideal for learning to fly. The high-wing with a pusher propeller, three-wheel landing gear with large wheels and electronic stabilization minimize the risk of damaging the model during your first attempts. This new version of the S 2 has a more durable nose wheel mount, metal-geared rudder servos, electronics with a very user-friendly STF (Smart Transmitter File) model setting. The model allows anyone to learn to fly and is perfectly equipped for this. It includes AS3X electronic stabilization, which automatically compensates for wind gusts, and SAFE technology with flight modes, including the Panic function, which levels the model into horizontal flight if you lose control of it.
An important condition for a good training model is its resistance to damage. The pusher propeller behind the trailing edge of the wing ensures perfect protection not only for the propeller itself, but also for the engine. The AeroScout S 2 model is made of very durable EPO material, which is additionally reinforced with structural elements; therefore, it withstands even rough landings by beginners very well. Large wheels with a steerable nose leg make it easier to take off and land on various surfaces, including grass in large parks, on a playground or in a meadow.
The model aircraft is equipped with a 30 A AC regulator with telemetry, which transmits information to the receiver and then to the transmitter (transmitter not included). With a compatible Spektrum G2 transmitter with display, you will also have a variety of telemetric data related to the system's performance in real time, including engine speed, current, battery voltage and more via the Spektrum™ AirWare™ menu. The powerful AC motor is more than enough for your first aerobatic tricks, including somersaults, turns and inverted flights. The lightweight construction and low wing area loading guarantee a wide range of flight speeds and incredible controllability, which even experienced pilots will appreciate.
The receiver also includes a new function: Upload settings from the receiver to the transmitter (Smart Transmitter File).
The Bind-N-Fly (BNF) version is intended for pilots who already have a Spektrum transmitter or want to buy a universal Spektrum transmitter separately. The package includes a complete model equipped with electronics; it is necessary to add at least a 6-channel Spektrum DSMX®/DSM2® transmitter, a 3S LiPo 11.1 V 1300–2200 mAh battery and a compatible charging source! The final assembly of the finished parts is very easy: just screw the landing gear, connect the marked connectors, attach the rudder and wing with screws.
The concept of the model with a pusher engine arrangement perfectly protects the propeller from damage during rough landing and reduces the risk of damage. The entire model is made in molds and foamed with super light, very stiff and yet flexible EPO material. It withstands extreme loads during training a new pilot and can withstand impacts that, for example, are characterized by strong destruction in wooden structures. If the material breaks, it is perfectly glued with 2-component epoxy glue and after a while you can be ready to take off again. A complete range of spare parts is available!
The Hobbyzone AeroScout S 2 RC airplane model comes in a box that holds the individual parts of the airplane. All of these parts are completely ready for final assembly and have the necessary electronics and drive installed, so you only need to use a few screws and the model is ready. Before you charge the battery, you will have the model ready to fly.
The wide, stable three-wheel chassis with large tires and a steerable nose wheel will keep you entertained! Take-offs and landings will be much easier. That's why you can also go with the model on less quality surfaces that the wheels will handle safely. The three-wheel chassis is easier to start with because it is stable when starting off, does not run off course and is easy to control.
Turn the AeroScout 2 into a seaplane with the optional float kit (sold separately). Installation takes just minutes and all the necessary hardware is included with the airplane and float kit.
Setting up a model in the transmitter has never been easier. The BNF model has an installed receiver, in which a file with all the settings for the transmitter is stored. When pairing, just confirm that you want to download the settings file to the transmitter, and that's it! In a few seconds, a new model will be automatically created in the transmitter, which is completely set up. The function is available for NX and iX series transmitters. You can find a demonstration of the function in the blog.
The model has integrated AS3X and SAFE stabilization. AS3X+ technology helps stabilize the model in flight. The receiver contains a three-axis MEMS gyro and accelerometer, and thanks to electronic stabilization, quick corrections to the model's control are automatically made, e.g. in turbulence or windy weather. The model behaves similarly to a much larger model and its flight is calm, while maintaining its full controllability. AS3X+ brings safer flight and more confidence in control. SAFE technology brings even more for new pilots. Flight modes are available according to the level of experience and the Panic function for automatic model leveling.
Beginner mode has limited elevator and aileron tilt; when the sticks are released to neutral, the model automatically returns to a horizontal position, engine speed is regulated according to climb or descent, and there is also assistance during takeoff and landing.
Advanced mode allows for greater tilt of the model, but it will not roll over onto its back or fall. Flight positions are limited to approximately 60° of tilt. There is already great freedom of control and minimal flight corrections are made. In this mode, the automatic return to horizontal position after releasing the sticks to neutral is no longer active.
In Expert flight mode, control is completely free with no corrections and no flight position restrictions. You can even fly on your back and perform aerobatic maneuvers.
If you ever lose control of the aircraft in more advanced flight modes, simply press the Panic Recovery button or switch to Beginner Mode and release the control sticks. SAFE® technology will automatically return the aircraft to level flight.
The package contains finished parts of the AeroScout S 2 s RC aircraft model with installed components: Hobbyzone 2306-2250Kv brushless motor, Avian 30A Smart Lite IC3 brushless controller, 3x Spektrum A390 8g servo (aileron and elevator), 1x Spektrum A392 13g MG servo (rudder/nose wheel) and Spektrum AR631+ 6CH AS3X/SAFE receiver. Instructions in Czech and manual in EN, DE, FR, IT.
