The Micro Scrappy RC model airplane with a wingspan of 0.8 m is a licensed replica of Mike Patey's airplane. Like the original, the model has STOL features, a suspension landing gear with large tires, flaps, a steerable spur and LED lighting. It also features AS3X+ stabilization and SAFE technology.
The powerful brushless motor with a special 4-blade propeller allows powering with a 3S or 4S LiPo battery, which allows for relaxed and more sporty aerobatic flying for intermediate and advanced pilots.
This BNF Basic version is equipped with a Spektrum receiver with improved AS3X+ technology, which even better stabilizes flight in wind and turbulence, as well as the optional SAFE Select system for easier and safer control.
The Spektrum receiver with integrated controller transmits real-time telemetry data (including total battery voltage, current, engine speed, and more) to compatible transmitters equipped with AirWare.
Features:
Skill level 2 (requires some experience)
Skill level 2 aircraft are suitable for RC pilots who already have some experience and skills in assembling, setting up and flying models in a similar category. Although it is an excellent flying model, the Scrappy is not suitable as a first RC model for novice pilots. You should have the experience and skills needed to successfully fly more powerful models such as the UMX Timber models or larger models such as the Slow Ultra Stick 1.2m, Valiant 1.3m or Turbo Timber Evolution 1.5m.
The Bind-N-Fly Advantage
Already own a Spektrum transmitter? Bind-N-Fly (BNF) model airplanes offer the opportunity to get in the air faster. The model comes with a motor, ESC, servos and a Spektrum 2.4 GHz receiver installed. Simply pair the receiver with your compatible transmitter, complete the final assembly and go flying! Batteries and charger not included.
Exclusive technology
The model is equipped with exclusive Spektrum AS3X+ and SAFE Select technologies, which increase the stability of the model and help less experienced pilots with safe flight.
Spectrum control unit
The Spektrum controller provides a range of real-time telemetry data, including motor speed, current draw, or flight battery voltage, via the Smart receiver and a compatible Spektrum transmitter equipped with Spektrum AirWare technology (DX6e, DX8e, DX6 G2/3, DX8 G2, DX9, NX6, 8 and 10, iX12, iX20, and more).
Functional elements
The Micro Scrappy is equipped with functional features such as flaps and LED navigation, landing and strobe lights.
Chassis
The tires on the main wire landing gear absorb bumps perfectly, allowing taxiing, takeoff and landing on surfaces that most models of this size cannot handle.
Easy assembly
The Micro Scrappy model comes almost ready-made, just install the one-piece wing with a single screw. The model is fully painted with applied stickers.
AS3X+ stabilization
The Spektrum receiver is equipped with AS3X+ technology, which helps stabilize the model in flight. The receiver contains a three-axis MEMS gyro and an accelerometer. Thanks to electronic stabilization, the model is easier to control, for example in windy weather. The model reacts similarly to much larger models and behaves more calmly. AS3X+ brings more confidence in control.
The AS3X+ stabilization algorithm creates better flight performance, improves sensor accuracy, and increases data rate, giving pilots a generational different feel compared to AS3X.
The new AS3X+ parameters and new Forward Programming settings make it the simplest and most versatile stabilization system. It features a significantly improved algorithm.
SAFE Select technology for beginners
Thanks to the SAFE Select technology, even a less experienced pilot can control the model. The SAFE system prevents over-banking in turns and also limits climb and descent. Simply releasing the controller sticks returns the model to horizontal flight. These functions will be appreciated especially by novice pilots who are not yet fully confident in controlling RC models.
As the name SAFE Select suggests, it is an optional feature, so it is up to you whether you want to use or disable SAFE technology. The pairing method determines whether the SAFE function should be turned on or off. It is also possible to turn the SAFE function on or off during flight using a free transmitter channel. Advantages of the SAFE Select feature:
Package contents
The package contains an assembled RC model of the E-flite Micro Scrappy aircraft with installed components: a Spektrum 1412-1500kV 14P brushless motor, a Spektrum control unit, 2 Spektrum A200 linear servos with offset (ailerons), 2 Spektrum A201 linear servos (elevator and rudder) and 1 Spektrum A202 linear servo (flaps). The package also includes instructions in Czech and manuals in EN, DE, FR, IT.
Must be purchased
To operate the model, you will need at least a 6-channel Spektrum transmitter with DSMX/DSM2 modulation, a 3S–4S LiPo battery with a capacity of 300 mAh equipped with a JST power connector, and a suitable charger.
