Corgi CC96610S - Star Trek 60th Anniversary Edition- U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701
An attractive collectible model from the British manufacturer Corgi. Careful craftsmanship and perfect surface finish. The model is made predominantly of metal, with some parts being plastic.
Star Trek, which first appeared in 1966, has become a legendary sci-fi saga encompassing a series of television shows and feature films.
This exceptional, chrome-plated metal model of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 is released as part of a one-time limited edition to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the original series. It comes in a collector's box with a premium finish and silver holographic foil.
Globally, only 3000 pieces are available. The inner side of the lid is inspired by the commemorative plaque found on the bridge of the Enterprise. The package also includes a numbered collector's card and cotton gloves, allowing you to handle the model without leaving fingerprints on it.
The U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701, one of the most iconic sci-fi spaceships in popular culture, was created based on Gene Roddenberry's concept. Its designer, Matt Jefferies, envisioned it to look nothing like anything seen in the genre before.
For the purposes of filming, several models of this ship were made. The largest one, measuring 11 feet (about 3.3 meters), is currently displayed in a place of honor at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum in Washington D.C.
