Axial SCX30 Jeep CJ-7 is an incredibly small expedition RC model car in 1:30 scale, but it retains all the functions, details, and driving characteristics of larger models. Despite being just 14 cm long, it offers a complete set for overcoming obstacles and countless hours of fun. The model features multi-link suspension, a constant 4x4 drive, proportional throttle and steering control, and a detailed licensed ABS body with front and rear LED lights. Everything needed for operation is included – the model comes with a complete electronics setup and a powerful DC motor, along with a 2S LiPo 160 mAh battery and USB charger in the package.
The body design varies based on the chosen color option.
- The red option is designed as CJ-7 GenRight Crawler with an open cabin and frame construction.
- The green option is designed as Classic Renegade with a solid removable roof.
The SCX30 platform chassis features sloped protective covers that allow the model to easily slide over obstacles. The solid axles with angled links provide a high center ground clearance. Fully functional suspension is supported by spring dampers. Power from the Axial 88T motor is transmitted to the wheels through the gearbox and drive shafts, utilizing ball bearings in the drivetrain for a smooth operation. Officially licensed tires are made from a soft compound for high traction.
CJ-7 GenRight Crawler
The red color variant in the GenRight Crawler body style features an airy open cabin with protective frame construction, which is iconic for this off-road vehicle. The interior of the model is detailed, including seats, steering wheel, and gear stick.
CJ-7 Classic Renegade
The green color variant in the Classic Renegade body style has a removable roof that allows for easy changes in the model’s appearance. The doors contain windows and there is a simple protective frame over the rear seats. This variant also has a fully detailed interior with seats, steering wheel, and gear stick.
Licensed Tires (GenRight)
The Mickey Thompson Baja Boss M/T tires on the GenRight Crawler variant are inspired by real off-road tires. The distinct tread pattern and well-crafted sidewall details give the model an authentic off-road look. The soft rubber compound adapts to surface irregularities and ensures reliable grip on rocks, dirt, and technically challenging obstacles. The factory-installed foam inserts help maintain the realistic shape of the tires and provide a consistent contact surface with the ground.

The Goodyear Wrangler Boulder MT tires on the Classic Renegade variant offer a classic off-road appearance with a robust tread designed for versatile use. The densely spaced tread lugs ensure reliable traction during forward driving, while the well-crafted details of the sidewalls enhance the authentic look of off-road tires. The soft rubber compound combined with the factory-installed foam inserts provides good grip while also helping to maintain the realistic shape and properties of the tires.
Licensed Rims (GenRight)
The Raceline Daytona wheels stand out with a clean design inspired by motorsport. The classic multi-spoke design perfectly complements the off-road character of the CJ-7 model. The red mock beadlock ring emphasizes the look of the rims and adds to the model's distinctive stance.

The American Racing AR23 wheels stand out with a timeless off-road appearance and a clean, functional design that perfectly complements the classic character of the CJ-7 model. The white rims feature wide star-shaped spokes.
Snap-Free Body
The snap-free body mounting system allows for quick and easy access to the chassis when changing the battery and for routine maintenance of the model.
High-Performance SCX30 Chassis
The high-performance chassis with multi-link suspension on solid axles also features angled protective covers that help overcome challenging obstacles. This feature is usually only found on large crawlers. Angled axles and high-clearance arms help prevent snagging on obstacles.
Gearbox
The SCX30 platform gearbox is easily accessible for maintenance. Tuning gears from SCX24 models can also be used for this model.

Although the Jeep CJ-7 is a small model, its high-quality components provide top-tier performance and value, demonstrated by the use of ball bearings throughout the drivetrain.
Spektrum SLT2 2.4 GHz Transmitter
The two-channel Spektrum SLT2 transmitter offers a range of useful features, such as throttle and steering trim settings and throttle limiting. It is ergonomically designed for long rides without fatigue and has a foam steering wheel for precise control. The RTR package includes AA batteries for the transmitter.
Spektrum Electronics
Brand-name Spektrum electronics are positioned low in the chassis, improving the model's center of gravity. The model comes with a powerful Spektrum 2S LiPo battery and a 0.5 A USB-C charger for quick, easy, and most importantly, safe charging.
Controller
The controller integrates a DC regulator of 2.5 A and an SLT protocol receiver. It features four driving modes, adjustable brakes, and LVC protection against low battery on LiPo batteries, along with a 10-minute inactivity shut-off function.
