Discover the merchant ship HMS Bounty, the scene of one of the most famous mutinies in history, with this fantastic wooden ship model kit. Captain William Bligh embarked on the ship with eighteen loyal sailors and performed a great feat, sailing over 3,500 nautical miles in forty-seven days before reaching port, losing only one of his men.

In December 1787, HMS Bounty sailed from England to Tahiti to transport breadfruit to the Caribbean, and encountered a major storm that forced her to change course and arrive in Tahiti several months late. This delay forced them to remain on the island for several months until breadfruit shoots could be collected again.

The crew had become accustomed to the customs of the natives, had formed relationships with Tahitian women, and had almost forgotten their status as English sailors. After much difficulty on Bligh's part in re-establishing discipline, he set sail on 4 April 1789, which provoked a mutiny twenty-four days later.
