The Corgi The Aviation Archive series is a collection of detailed metal aircraft models, designed mainly for the discerning collector. Limited edition with numbered card.
Information about the template:
The Halifax was one of the most famous bombers of the British Royal Air Force during World War II. Over 6,170 of them were built in all variants. It was used mainly by the British Bomber Command on bombing missions over Europe. Other Halifaxes were also used to drop secret agents in enemy territory or to make long naval flights over the Atlantic Ocean and the North Sea, during which they managed to sink a total of 43 enemy ships.
The Halifax entered service with the RAF's Bomber Command in 1941 as the second largest four-engine bomber. Although it encountered a number of problems during its development and never emerged from the shadow of the Lancaster, it nevertheless became the most famous Allied bomber of the war. The Halifax Mk II was armed with eight Browning machine guns and could carry a total bomb load of up to 5,900 kg.
