Corgi AA29402 - 1:48 Panavia Tornado GR1A, RAF ZA371/C, Norway, 1995
The Corgi The Aviation Archive series is a collection of detailed metal aircraft models, designed mainly for the discerning collector. Limited edition with numbered card.
Template information
The Panavia Tornado heavy fighter with variable-geometry wings was a key pillar of NATO's air strike force at the end of the Cold War. A specialized reconnaissance variant, the GR1A, was developed to perform tactical photo reconnaissance at extremely low altitudes and high speeds. Instead of internal cannons, the aircraft received advanced infrared sensing systems and long-range data links, which were able to map enemy positions in detail in any weather conditions.
This premium Die-Cast model reproduces in minute detail the aircraft with the designation ZA371/C from the famous No. II Squadron RAF during the winter exercises in Norway in 1995. The model carries a completely unique and visually stunning temporary winter camouflage, where the standard gray areas were painted over with washable white paint. The precise pad printing perfectly captures all the warning labels and specific markings of the squadron, which has a tradition of reconnaissance missions in its emblem since the First World War.
