The Corgi The Aviation Archive series is a collection of detailed metal aircraft models, designed mainly for the discerning collector. Limited edition with numbered card.
Information about the template:
The North American P-51 Mustang was a single-seat, long-range fighter aircraft that served on the Allied side during World War II. It was one of the most successful types of fighter aircraft. It mostly accompanied bombers on raids over Germany, helping the Allies gain air superiority. It was also used in the Pacific against Japan.
During World War II, Mustang pilots shot down 4,950 enemy aircraft. The machine began the Korean War as a main fighter and attack aircraft, but was replaced by more modern jet types during the war. The Mustang was still in service with some air forces in the early 1980s. Many of the aircraft, which were sold off after the war (often for less than $1,500) to private owners, are still flying today.
