Send a question Outside the RAF Spitfire aircraft were used in most of the Allied air forces. Particularly important were the Canadian (Royal Canadian Air Force), Australia (Royal Australian Air Force), South Africa (South African Air Force) and New Zealand (Royal New Zealand Air Force) Air Force. This included also one of the few non-US aircraft types have served in the U.S. Air Force (United States Army Air Forces). Used Supermarine Spitfire fighters also some units of foreign countries that fell under British RAF: they were mainly French, Norwegians, Belgians, Poles and Czechoslovaks. In the battle against Japan deployed these aircraft and the Royal Indian Air Force. Spitfire also served in the Air Force ranks of the Red Army in the Soviet Union where they were supplied under the loan agreement and lease. Captured specimens used in several cases Luftwaffe.
After the Second World War Spitfire used: Sweden, Italy, Syria, Denmark, Norway, Turkey, Canada, Holland, France, Portugal, Czechoslovakia, Spain, Poland, Rhodesia, Yugoslavia, Hong Kong, Burma, Israel and the United Kingdom. Participated in the Greek civil war and the Israeli War of Independence.
